Likes

Library - the library of the college looks really great.It contains a Variety of books, they even have fiction books(my fav genre: romcom)and the wall paintings with decorations are cherry on top
Gym - the college's gym has many equipments and has decent changing room
Seniors - the seniors here are so friendly

Dislikes

Infrastructure - the science building is well maintained unlike the commerce building...they should focus on commerce building more
Canteen - the canteen is always close...
Common room - they should add some benches here

I choose this curriculum in this college as I heard there are many like minded people and I want to expand my knowledge with them...the curriculum prepares us significantly both effectively and efficiently

Internships Opportunities

It is compulsory for everyone in sem II to do an internship that is guided by Calcutta University It provides all the students a great environment for learning and gathering new knowledge for them that'll help them in near future

From sem VI the students are eligible for campus placements Some common companies that visit for placements i.e.,TCS,Wipro,CTS etc Approx 30% of the students get placements I'm planning to persue my masters after my honours with research paper in B.Com

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees mentioned in centralised admission portal was 31k for 4years B.Com hons w/ research paper. We can opt for scholarship too i.e., Swami Vivekananda scholarship that provides 12k per year... The fees of this college is pretty affordable but a bit higher than other government colleges but ofc it's always better than those private colleges And I feel like it's all worth the fees!

Campus Life

They organised the foundation day(28 August )just after we got admitted to the course They also host freshers earlier than other colleges They also host a annual picnic and annual sports day The sports students can take part in i.e., cricket, football, badminton, boxing. They also run several clubs in the college such as NSS.

Admission

I applied for SA jaipuria day college, goenka college,city college(north), GURUDAS COLLEGE and manindra Chandra college From which I choose GURUDAS COLLEGE as I didn't meet the cut off for goenka and jaipuria college and GURUDAS COLLEGE has more facilities and better faculties than manindra Chandra and city college. The admission process simple.we applied to colleges through centralised admission portal and the eligibility for this college is 60%+ average marks The expected cut-off is 70-80% which can be less for reserved category

Faculty

We have semester wise exams that happens every 6months period. The faculty is great considering approx 180 students they provide 2-4 professors for each subject. They always ask for introduction and they're approachable and Frank

Our College in my views

Course Curriculum Overview:

The taxation part influenced me to join the course. It's prepare me very well for real world application or further academic pursuits. I don't think that there is any need to improve teaching methods. Teaching methods ar very good, But the syllabus of the carriculum must be reviewed. Frequency of exam is about every 6 months & question is quiet difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose bcom honours because there are so many opportunities in this field. There are so many students in the college about 100 in a section. Qualification is good And the teaching method is so good professors help us and also provide us with notes. The exam is also on time.
