My college experience

The overall conclusion is that one can join this college if one wants his/ her college life to be free from compulsory classes, tests, and strict rules and want to gain more knowledge and better career with enjoying the freedom.

I opted this college because this is first ever college to be started by private concern in my state in the year 1999. This is more lenient when compared to other private colleges in Pondicherry and the teach practical education by conduction workshops and seminars.

The course curriculum is prescribed by the Pondicherry University which was updated in the year 2013 and it is a still best curriculum for the beginners but technology has evolved beyond this so much. So our college is conducting various extra training and Symposiums to bring out the innovative ideas and awareness about the upcoming technologies.

No, the college doesn't provide any internship of its own. But it has tied up with intern shall and a student representative is appointed to guide and provide details of internships and how to apply for them.

The placement and job opportunities are good and college has signed up an MOU with some companies like society generally, HCL, CSS CORP and job recruitment portals like guvi, hire me, gate tutor. College provides a two-week placement and training program for students right from the second year by the members of ICTACT every year.

Many events are conducted in our college like RECOFES every year which is an intercollegiate cultural cum technical festival for 3 days. We also conduct BETA( budding Engineers Talent Awaking) on September 15 every year to celebrate the Engineer's Day. Each department has its own symposium like PRESTO for ECE and COMFESTIA for CSE which are conducted every year to gain knowledge apart from books and syllabus.

the fees structure is feasible for any average middle-class people. As it comes around 45,000 tuition fee + transport fee(within 16,000(depends on area) if needed)+ hostel fees(if required) for those who got admitted through Govt.of Puducherry admission and 60,000 to 80,000(varies based on course opted) +transport fee for those got admitted under the management quota. Anyhow the fees won't cross more than 1 lakh per year excluding hostel fees.

College does not provide any scholarship of its own. All the student admitted through CENTAC counseling are provided an annual scholarship if they perform well without arrears. Moreover one can apply for bank loans if they require. Students belonging to scheduled caste are also given separate scholarship by the govt. of Puducherry,

The college has 32 acres of green campus filled with trees which provide a peaceful atmosphere to study an engage in academic activities. The lab is also well equipped and well-trained lab assistants are employed to guide the students in performing various experiments. We have football, basketball and tennis court for sports lovers. Kho-kho and cricket spaces are also available. They are 12 fleets of buses operated directly by the college management to provide transport facility to the students.

The hostel and mess facilities are up to the standard and are prepared hygienically the kitchen staff. Hostelers are provided with three times food and tea snacks daily. The hostel is situated about 1 km away from the college premises and free transport is made available to the hostel students by the college management. The Day scholars can also avail lunch alone in the afternoons daily by paying mess fees additionally or they can buy them occasionally if required in the canteen food court.

Yes, we have Whatsapp group for alumni network and staff the interact with them and share their experience in the industry and staff tell them those things and train us accordingly. The alumni members would visit us on BETA(Engineers day celebration) and RECOFES(annual tech and cultural fest) to interact with us.

The college conducts three examinations for internal examinations and Model exam for laboratory and theory exams before University exam. Periodically unit wise test is conducted after each unit is completed in a subject to make the concepts understand better. If someone fails int he internal examination re-examination is conducted within 2 weeks as one more chance to perform better.

I applied for CENTAC(Govt.of Puducherry admission committee counseling) and they will prepare a merit list based on the 12std score. when the merit list is published according to my score, I was eligible for all colleges affiliated to Pondicherry except Pondicherry Engineering College (Govt. college). SO in the counseling, I chose this college.

The college faculty is very affectionate and well versed in their respective streams. But most of the staffs are freshers just after their post graduation in 2016 or 2017 and about 25 percent of them did either UG OR PG in the same college they are working for... Some faculties are really well talented while some just go with theoretical knowledge.. Overall the faculty is not too bad nor too good.
