Likes
- The best thing about IHM Chennai is the staff is very helpful in academics as well as teaching morals and motivating to be punctual
- The ground is pretty big and they offer cricket bat, ball , football , even they have Table tenis and a volleyball court,
- There is mixed culture and many people think that there will be a language problem but the faculty takes lecture in eng and as such there is ola, uber , rapido if someone wants to travel
Dislikes
- The drainage system is not good in chennai because of which the water log offen takes place
- They give too much of written work and they expect us to submit with 2-3 weeks, Believe me completing 2-3 whole journals after such a hectic college hours is too difficult
- The college hours is like morning 8 -30 to 4-30 and sometime may goes till 5-30
Course Curriculum Overview
I was looking for the course which offers internship or work offer in 5 star hotels for the departments such as front office and i choosed this course because i saw i was having the required quality's the frequency of exams is once in 2.5 months and exams continues till 1-2 weeks the exams can be cracked easily
Internships Opportunities
I applied for Taj santacruz mumbai for internship and and i easily got placed in it. I worked in 4 main department for 4 months and i get to learn a lot of things like guest handling, situation handling etc
Placement Experience
From 3 rd year students can sit in campus placements companies like Taj, ITC, Oberoi,. Hilton , lemon tree, leela , Marriott are some of the frequent visitors almost all the student gets the placements my plans are to get international placement after the degree
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are around 700000 per sem and around 400000 for 3 years course they take tution fees around 10k and i dont know why we are giving a compulsory exam of ignou who’s fees is around 13k with study material and without this we cant get graduation certificate. Its unnecessary exams which all of the students are being frustrated. For 3 years total there are 7 exams and the charges while selecting the center is different i am from open category hence i didn't applied for any scholarship as such i have done my internship from taj and my stipend was 5k per month
Campus Life
Library is full of useful books and there are smart tv and Ac in classroom there are many clubs like sports club, hk club , fo club , kitchen club etc they have volley ball court, football and cricket ground
Hostel Facilities
Food of the mess is excellent its cyclic menu and condition of the room is also good the room are shared with 2/3 roomates there are many pg around the area its full of college students hostel is bit expensive its around 80k
Admission
The eligibility of course was 45% or more in 12th grade the application form can be easily get from the college official site the exams are too easy and we get enough time to get prepared fo it as such no need the process is smooth
Faculty
The faculty to students are 1:35 class strength can go upto 50 but usually around 30-35 students are present They put a lot of efforts from their side and tries their best to teach students teachers are too friendly and would be easily approachable whenever you need
