Course Curriculum Overview

4

The very good thing of the IIT Indore electrical curriculam is that it cover a wide range of the subjects of electronic and communication domain which is the emerging field nowadays. It is very much required to make the syllabus industry oriented with more focus on creating skills like cadence and verilog rather than just focusing on circuit solving. I also recommend to remove subjects like eengineering drwaing and bioscience from first year curriculam because they are very less relevant. The frequency of exams is also very high. There is very short term of semester of about 120 days out of whic 30 days we are involved in exams.Other than that there lots of pressure of assignments presentation and lab file.

Internships Opportunities

3

SDE roles: Google, Goldman Sachs, BNY Mellon, Walmart, Accenture etc. Digital and Analog : Nvidia, Texas Instruments, Analog devices, AMD, Qualcomm and Intel PSUs: BPCL, HPCL, ONGC, NTPC, BHEL, GAIL, ISRO etc; Quant: Quadeye, StockGrow etc Education : Physics Wallah, Bakarwal Pune etc You must have at least 2 to 3 descent projects in yout cv to get selected. Many companies have cpi criteria of about 8 to get eligible. There are technical rounds and interview round for the selection process.

Placement Experience

2.5

From &th semester students get eligible for the placements. There are around 110 companies which visited the campus every year and around 300 offers are made every year for the ug students during the plaacements season. The highest placements is about 68 lpa (cse student) and 46lpa ( ee student) and overall average package is about 25.45lpa and 25.70 lpa for ee students. The highest offering companies are quadeye, google and nvidia for SDE roles and Texas Instruments and Analog decices also offer a descent package of about 35 lpa for digital and analog engineering job.Almost 90 percent of students gets placed every year with cse and ee having 100 percent placements records.I will go for placements to secure a job after degree after that I will prepare for upsc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being an IIT the tution fees is fixed to 1lac per semester and not change over a long span of time. The sc/st student gets the tution fee waiver they have to only submit the mess and accomodation charges which is about 30000.The complete semester fees structure is as follows: 1.Tution fees : 1lac 2.Hostel : 16000 3.Mess : 14000(adjustable ) 4.Other charges : 6000 Note: All the charge is for the semester which is about 5 months so the annual fees is almost double of that.

Campus Life

3.5

The annual techno cultural fest is FLUXUS which is the largest fest of central India. It held in the month of march. The library know as learning resource centre have around 45000+ books and 5250+ e-jornals.They are very easily accessible if you have library card with whic you can issues a max of 8 books at a time from library. The classrooms are technoligically advanced with smart boards in lecture halls and led screens in seminar halls used for common classes.Sports facility is not very good. There is no proper lighting in the ground. The cricket pitch is always in bad condition. The football ground is also not good and have problems of water logging. There is some descent facilities for indoor games. Only few clubs of the college work wells like programming club and gdsc. Most of the cultural and technical clubs are dead with a very few responsive people. There are some councils whic works well like ecell and tedx that organises a very good annual flagship event like e summit and TEDx.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The best things of the hostel is that every student get single occupancy rooms in 5 room unit.So there is no problem of loneliness as well as privacy. The rooms are equipped with a study table, chair, bed and an almirah with lot of space and proper ventilation through windrow.AC rooms are alloted or 3rd and 4th year students. The common unit includes sofa and refrigirator. We have 2 bathrooms and two washroom for every 5 students. There is a badminton court and some indoor games with television on the ground floor. The meal quality is good but taste is not very much good.Breakfast is good but the lunch and dinner is not good at all.The menu is very diverse. Hostel registration is a one time process at the time of admission and charges are also not high.

Admission

To get enrolled in IIT Indore you must have to clear JEE Advance. To get electrical engineering you have to secure around 3600 rank if you belongs to general category . The reservation is applied for sc/st/obc/pwd as per the national policy. The jee advance examination held every year.It is a very tough exam. One must have a very good command in physics chemistry and mathematics to clear it.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio of IIT Indore is very good.It is about 14:1.Thats why we get more than one faculty for a subject in each semester which are experts in their fields. Qualification and research wise faculties are very good but some of the faculty are not capable of teaching. It is very hard to get your doubts cleared by faculty and also it is hard that your interest blooms in a subject. Direct interaction of faculties is very less and it occurs only in classes and sometimes in their offices but to clear our doubts there are teaching assistants but they are also not very good. Some of them are good but most of them work as it is their job and not much interested towards student doubts.

Other Applied Colleges

IIT BHU - Indian Institute of Technology | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electrical Engineering)

The electrical engineering branch of IIT BHU is more oriented toward core electrical subjects while IIT Indore electrical engineering branch covers a wide range of subjects of electronics like VLSI design and digital electronics.

Placement Experience:

In my college, students become eligible for campus placements from the pre-final year itself (generally from the 5th or 6th semester), which gives them ample time to prepare and participate in the recruitment process. The placement cell of the college is highly active and dedicated, consistently bringing in a wide range of reputed companies from different sectors such as IT, core industries, finance, and consulting. Every year, numerous well-known companies visit the campus and collectively make a significant number of offers, ensuring that students get diverse career opportunities. The college has an impressive placement record, with competitive salary packages offered across various profiles. The highest package offered has been remarkably attractive, reflecting the quality of students and training provided, while the average package is also quite satisfactory and ensures a stable start to students’ careers. The roles offered range from technical positions like software developer and engineer to non-technical roles such as management trainee and analyst, giving students flexibility based on their interests and skills. A good percentage of students secure placements every year, which clearly highlights the strong industry connections and the effectiveness of the training and placement cell. The college also provides continuous support in terms of aptitude training, mock interviews, personality development sessions, and skill enhancement programs, which significantly boost students’ confidence and employability. As far as my future plans are concerned, after completing my degree, I aim to secure a good position through campus placement in a reputed organization where I can apply my knowledge, gain practical experience, and grow professionally. In the long term, I aspire to enhance my skills further and achieve a responsible position in my field, contributing meaningfully to the organization and society. Overall, the placement opportunities and career support provide

Placement Experience:

Placements are based on the training as some students opt out. The companies these days have an assessment test and it's because of that they choose the candidates. That is followed by an interview and our department prepares us for that and those who does well or showcase themselves well get in excess of 10 lakhs easily.
