Likes

I like the hostels my college. the rooms offered are spacious and are get cleaned from time to time.
the campus is lush green and various gardens are there for chilling. the group of peers i got is also very nice.
the infrastructure of pod buildings, hostels , central dining facility , library and LHC is commendable

Dislikes

sometimes i don t like the food in mess,
sometimes the sports facilities and sports grounds are not maintained up to the level.
the mess is far away from hostels so it takes a long time if you choose to walk to the mess.

Course Curriculum Overview

throughout my childhood i was very intrested in how the circuits work and basic aspects of electrical so i was reluctant to opt for this course. In the college we are given various projects and works related to electrical domain and real world applications like maiking of drones, robots etc.the course curriculum of IIT Indore is very well organsised, they start from the basic aspects and progess us to the advanced. One thing i want to change in the course curriculum and teaching methods is that they should give some releif in attendance system. one semester is approximateky of 6 months which comprisses of Mid sem exam and end sem exam and the quizzes of various subjects continues during the sem only. the difficulty level of end sem is more than mid sem.

Class Size: 85Course Fees: INR 135910 per year

Internships Opportunities

The internship season start from semester 5. different companies offer different offers to different branches. avg stipend offered is 75000 and highest is 3 lakhs. quadeye offers stipend of 3 lakhs. After internship, companies often offers for PPOs to students. the various companies for electrical core are Texas instruments with stipend of 1 lakhs , Nvidia and many more. the companies for SDE role are oracle with stipend of 125000,google,accenture, qualcomm, goldman sachs and many more. students have to do minimum 2 projects to fill in their resume for internship.

the students start preparing for internship opportunities and placements from year 1 only. the placament opportunies offered by IIT-Indore are very diverse. students can go for core and non-core opportunities both. students are eligible for campus placements from semester 7 .the various companies visited are google , de shaw , quadeye , oracle , zomato , accenture , goldman-sachs , texas instruments , Nvidia , axxela and many more.The number of offers made are approximately 95 percent of registered student. The highest package was 70 lakhs fpr SDE role and average is 25 lakhs. 99 percents of registered students get placed. After the degree i will try for SDE role in any reputed corporate company.

Fees and Financial Aid

the fee structure includes tution fees,mess fees,hostel fees,gymkhana fees,medical fees,lab research fees,student welfare fees. apart from this they give releif in mess fees if you are out for some days. the complete cost of education is 12 lakhs for 4 years of graduation. the students of reserved categories are offered NSP scholarship and various states also provide different programs for scholarship..

Campus Life

the annual techno-cultural fest of IIT indore is known as fluxus which takes place in month of march in which various cultural activites take splace like dance singing gaming etc.In our learning resource centre (LRC), books of various genres are available and they also maintain a website called koha which maintains the record of books that students issued and books that can be issued. all our classrooms are equipped with smartboards and projector facilites. the sports facilities of our college are excellent and even the INTER-IIT event (annual sports event in which all IITs participate) is also going to take place this year in IIT-INDORE.There are various club activites going on in college during full year. Various clubs are gaming club,all sports club, havana club, mysticues, cinephiles, VLR etc.

Admission

during my higher secondary examinations, I applied for the IIT-JEE examination for entrance in IITS. My rank in that exam was 3731 so i applied into IIT indore electrical engineering through JOSAA and i got it.JOSAA councelling consists of 7 rounds. I got this college in 7th round of JOSAA.after allocation of college i was called in college for further admission process. the admission process was very hectic for me and my parents as well as it was not very well organised and planned.

Everything you need to know about IIT Indore: An honest review

As I really have interest in Astronomy and Space Science since childhood, so during JOSAA(Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling, I filled up IIT Indore as my first preference and IIT Jodhpur as my 2nd .I got IIT Indore in first week so I locked it. I also applied to Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology and got accepted too. But later on I realised that it has direct ties with ISRO only. There is no other scope if we want to do something else like more related to technology. So, there were not much opportunities. I did not apply to any other colleges. We can take admission in our college by JOSAA counselling which is generally for admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs. You have to clear JEE MAINS and ADVANCED. And your 12th board percentage should be greater than 75% to be eligible for this. Now, if you just cleared JEE MAINS, you get NITs/ IIITs , else you can get IITs. There are different cutoffs for different categories like it is more for General than in OBC/SC/ST. Cutoffs depends on difficulty of paper , so there is not exact cutoff that I can tell. I gave JEE exam and according to my rank i get this college and civil branch beside that i have interest in civil also but college i get due to my rank. I apply for other colleges but with same branches after clearing jee we have to fill our priority according to our rank and there is JOSAA counselling where we have to fill the course and college and there are 5-6 rounds like you can accept the college in 1st round and no need to fill for other round...Read More

its an IIT so i chose it over NITs, IIITs, etc. i applied to top IITs also but could not get because of my rank constraints. as i cleared JEE Advanced therefore i was not rejected rather i was not alloted that because of availablibity of higher rank students. I choose my college because of it's reputation as an Indian Institute of Technology. The sole reason of me being in this college is quality of education which is common for all IITs and my JEE Rank. I could have been to better IIT if I got better rank, needless to say I aimed for the best branch which is CSE. The college admission process is straightforward but still lengthy. Eligiblity to enter this college is only determined by JEE Advanced Rank. Once the student have got their JEE AIR, and they have been alloted seat from JoSAA, all they need to do is gather relevant personal documents according to the list which college provides, and present them on the day which is told beforehand, then all the thing which is left is verification of documents, once verified, the student is good to have some rest. Cutoff for general category on my exam was around rank 1400 in JEE Advanced. I had multiple options of college to choose from namely BITS Pilani, IIIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore CSE, I chose the later solely because of reputation and I still agree that this would be the best choice....Read More
