My side of the IIT story

My decision depended on the tag of IIT. I had interest in science field and I chose naval architecture in IITM as it is the online scientific background course I could find. The curriculum includes several high tech labs and ship yard training which shows you the real world problems. The teaching methods and curriculum is sufficient for any student to explore the field. The difficult of exams is not high.

There are many companies that visit iitm every year. The placement and internship team takes care of the process. There are software roles, consult, quant, and many more in core sector. ML internships offers around 40k per month in a 2 month internship.

The placements are very well taken care by the institute. Students sit for placements after 7th semester and before 8th semester. There is a student body from every department which takes care of students from their department.

Tuition fee depends on the income of the family of the student. The students are divided into 1 lakh below, 1 to 5 lakh and 5 lakh above categories. My complete cost for my semester is around 48,000. I have a scholarship which provides me 1000 per month financial assistance. I am in several pors which include CFI, Shaastra.

My campus life is amazing. It provides me with every opportunity possible out there. The campus never falls behind the real world feel. The elections, the POR selection process all give you the real world feels. The sports are amazing and there are plenty of sports available for everyone to explore .

The hostel facility is also very good for the money we pay. There is proper process for mess allocation and proper maintainance of hostel and quick response to issues. The food is also not that bad. No mess here have a very bad review.

I have written JEE. I was qualified for JEE adv in mains. The exam is of two stages i.e,Mains and Advanced, you will have to qualify for adv after writing Mains. The application form can be found on official jee website. The dates will be released every year and can be found easily online. I had obc reservation and helped me get into IIT. I feel there is a loophole I the admission process during the exams, I have encountered several students who have copied and got great colleges, strict monitoring can help choose the top students.
