Course Curriculum Overview
This course will provide overall knowledge of the power dynamics and embedded institutions in the socio-political sphere, faculty and student ratio is okay but there is a little deficiency in the number of faculties in most of the departments, however the faculty here are among the bests not only India but on a global scale, term exams are designed efficiently but they are a little difficult to pass, one needs to study really seriously to get marks
Internships Opportunities
Gandhi Fellowship, opportunity for studying abroad for one semester, TCS, many NGOs are there, however it is a research University so one should not expect placements opportunities much at least for humanities, although some of the departments give ample opportunities for placement and internships
Fees and Financial Aid
Cost to study is very less, and university provides 7, 8 scholarships like SVMCMS, INSPIRE, OASIS, UMCM, student aid, free studentship to the financially challenged students, however placement opportunities are low in here
Campus Life
You name presidency and do not talk about its fest is impossible, ISPAT, MILLIU, ICON, departmental fests and many more enriching, mind broadening fests always keep happening, there are two libraries filled with a lot of relevant books, classrooms are great, there is a preaty ground in the middle of the campus where one can play, there is an active NSS cell also. Broadly the extra curricular life is great here..
Hostel Facilities
There two hostel one for girls that is a little far away another is the famous Eden Hindu Hostel, the place and environment is very good but university won't provide you food, a whole building with approximately 200 students capacity is closed for no reason, neither the state government nor the university administration is concerned enough about the degrading condition of the hostel, however the students collectively have started a mess in the face of managerial hostility.
Admission
Generally online application for entrance exam starts on November, one could find the link to the application at www.wbjeeb.nic.in site, application fees are very minimal, for SC, ST, PWD students there is ample reservation benefits, the whole process is very lucid and transparent, every year students from different departments form helpdesk for helping newly admitted students. One of the best experience ever in presidency is awaiting you.
