Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is top-notch, and the first year gives an exquisite insight into the various engineering fields. The second year focuses on the basics of computer science building up concepts for the upcoming internships. The third year comprises the core computing concepts like automata and computer networks etc. The Final year focuses on industry training and using the concepts for building real-life projects.
Internships Opportunities
Various companies visit the campus ranging from Amazon, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS Ninja, and many others. The internships are also available in SDE and development fields, although their number is quite small.
Placement Experience
In the third year, internships are provided on campus based on the coming CG. In the final year, companies allow students above 7 cgpa to sit for the placement drive. The placement commences in the 7th Sem and gets over by the 8th sem. The average placement of the CSE branch here varies from 13 to 15 lpa. The placement percentage is almost 80%.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is neither good nor bad, being an engineering institute, it does take relatively less fee than the new private institutions, although being a government college requires it to be minimal in fee which it fails to provide.
Campus Life
The annual fest here is called Aagaz and the technical fest is called Technika and these are organized in the month of April. The fest comprises of series of competitions in various fields for students to participate in and learn. It is the most cherished and awaited time of the year and has been graced by the presence of various celebrities in the past including Darshan Ravel, etc. The classroom, library, and other facilities of the college are impressive.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels at Hbtu are a bit old but certainly live up to the expectations. The location of the hostel, specifically on the west campus may not be good, yet the rooms are spacious and lavish and certainly good for studying atmosphere. The mess unlike any other college is okay, dont expect a lavish food pallete here. The hostel wardens are responsible for overlooking the maintenance of the hostel and they appoint in charge from among the students to manage different genres.
Admission
The admission process was very simple and robust. The first stage was online involving an online hbtu counseling platform, where seats were allocated in three rounds based on the choice preferences of the candidates. After the online certificate verification, the provisional admit cards were released and we were informed of the date for offline document verification. Following this, the offline additional rounds concluded the admission process.
