Course Curriculum Overview

The Btech course from IIT is valuable in India. Moreover, I like chemistry so I opted for this course. We have a 1:6 faculty-to-student ratio. The exams are conducted in two parts for each semester. The first one is mid-semester then comes the end semester. Even there are time-to-time quizzes and lab work held at the college. The whole activity keeps us engaged with our studies.

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 75000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The internship offers start for students from the first semester. We are allowed to take part in UDGAM the entrepreneurship program held at our college to ignite the young minds for bringing new ideas ahead. Even various companies come to our college during this fest to listen to the ideas and give a view upon it.

Placement Experience

The placement cell opens the portal for students after the 6th semester. We have a good placement legacy. Our average package in 2022 was 26.27 lakhs and in 2021 was 21.06 lakhs. Various companies recruit from our college like Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, TVS, R&D, GAIL, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is 1 lakh per semester. They provide various waivers for economically weaker sections of people. They give MEB / OEB to the students which benefits students greatly. They provide stipends for MTech and PhD students. BTech students have various opportunities in different fields like finance, tech, sports, management, consultancy, etc. BTech students can explore themselves in all these fields.

Campus Life

The lifestyle here is the best. The campus is full of natural beauty. Sometimes the sunrise and the sunset view are mesmerizing. The campus includes 3 lakes, one big central Library, 2 sports buildings, 2 SAC buildings, and 14 hostels. We have our cultural fest ALCHERINGA held at every January end, and our sports fest SPIRIT. The technical fest TECHNICHE and various inter-hostel competitions are held here.

Hostel Facilities

They provide us with a good hostel facility. Around each hostel, we have large open ground. We have even got an attached bathroom. For the food quality, we have a good breakfast but the afternoon meal is very bad. Then we have a good dinner.

Hostel Fee: INR 25500 per year

Admission

The admission to IIT GUWAHATI was through the JEE ADVANCED exam conducted by any of the IITS under JAB (Joint Admission Board). Students even have to take JEE MAINS exam to qualify for JEE ADVANCED. The application form for mains is found on the official website created by NTA and updated every year. And after the procedure of mains is over they give a link to the advanced website. The exam process is very good and has very tight security. It is conducted in a very good and smooth manner.

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

there are on campus placements but there are not many students who got a good placement .only 4th year students sit for campus placement . almost all of them get placed but majority of them chose to go for goverment exams or higher studies becuse of the good oppurtunity there . almost 20-40% students get placed with average package of 2.5 lpa and the higest been 20 lpa . many agri based company vist us for placement like manidra , amul etc.

Good college to join and get knowledge

Placement Experience:

Students gets placement during final semester. Several companies visit the campus for placement. Different offers are made according to the company. The average package provided is 4 to 4.5 lacs yearly. 100% placement. Almost all students get placed. My plan is to get an upliftment in my career.

IIT Guwahati, one of its best

Various other colleges I received based on my JEE rank was IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Hyderabad and oher tier 2 and 3 IIT's. But IIT Guwahati had a better course option for me and known for its efficient alumni network, teaching department, ambiance and college life prospects I chose IIT Guwahati over others. Other colleges I opted to join were not available due to my JEE rank. The eligibility exam is JEE Advanced after JEE Mains which is considered one of the toughest exams in India. Rank varies for courses, normally an All India Rank from 400 to 8000 will permit you to take admission on general category whereas the limit pushes a bit further for other categories. The cutoff varies from year to year depending on difficulty of the JEEA. The admission procedure was excellent with JOSAA facilitating the choice of colleges and courses with priorities filled in accordance with ranks secured by the student....Read More

I wanted a decent branch and a top 7 IIT that is why I opted IIT Guwahati as well as it has the most beautiful campus and very nice environment I did not wanted the polluted city like daily or city with a lot of cham which can distract student life Bombay of course it do not describe but still I was not getting very good branch in Bombay so IIT Guwahati chemical engineering was a perfect combination of a decent branch and a very good college...Read More
