Remarks

1) If you are pursuing a degree for fun with very less expenditure I would highly recommend you to join here. 2) If you are ambitious, but your HSC score is less to join Tier 1 colleges then please JOIN this college. Put in efforts and definitely, you would get placed. 3) If you are someone who wants to gain a lot of exposure, please don't join here.

Entrance Preview

I was provided admission based on my HSC score (1017/1200). I was instructed to take up a preliminary entrance exam as my college was a deemed university. I had opted for this college as it was very close to my hometown and the fee was affordable.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

First-year curriculum: Common to all departments, covers a wide array of all engineering basic concepts that provide a foundation for the next three years. 2nd-year curriculum: Core department subjects like thermodynamics, fluid mechanics etc. 3rd-year curriculum: Advanced core subjects like HMT, Thermal engineering, Kinematics, Finite element analysis etc. (a mini project is also included) Final-year curriculum: Main project along with a few elective papers which enable a student to completely concentrate on his project work.

Internships Opportunities

No. To my knowledge, they don't provide internships. But they happily grant permission if any student is interested to do an internship elsewhere.

Placement Experience

2.5

As mentioned already, not many core companies visit the campus. The placement is mostly directed toward IT sector and BPOs. The average salary is around 2-4 lakh per annum. The placement percentage is about 75%. (Batch of 2015) Companies like TCS, Wipro recruit all department students except civil engineers. Core companies like Mahindra, Sanmar recruit one or two candidates.

College Events

5

International workshops like RIM (Research issues in Reinforced materials) are conducted twice every year. apart from that technical symposiums and workshops are frequently organized (mostly assisted by SAE, India). Participation varies from 100 to 5000 students per event. Intercollege cultural maybe organized once a year. (it depends on the decision taken by the management)

Fee Structure And Facilities

For this standard of education and facilities they provide, I would say it is very cheap even though I belong to an average middle-class family. Tuition fee - 75,000 - 80,000 hostel fee (4 stay with food) - 30,000 book fee - 2500 Total fee per year - 1,10,000 (including Misc) So for four years, it comes to a little over 4 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

A loan can be availed from any Govt. or private banks once the college provides the student with an acknowledgment letter, The college neither provides any scholarship (to my knowledge) nor any education loan support. I had taken a loan of the full fee amount from Indian Bank for which the university supported by providing all necessary documents from their side.

Campus Life

4

1) Gender ratio: (M: W) Circuital branches: 1:1, IT branches: 1:1. Bio-Tech: 1:2. Mechanical & Civil: 30:1 2) Dorm parties: allowed as long as you don't break anything or cause trouble to the management. 3) Boys and Girls are allowed to talk with each other. No discrimination on gender, race or economic status. 4) You can avail for Wi-fi facility inside the hostel for Rs.1000. The speed is awesome and there are no MB restrictions. 5) The campus if a Wi-fi campus, This can be availed for free by submitting a letter to the technical department. 6) There is a 20% leniency in attendance.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel: 4 sharing or 2 sharing rooms (2 sharing rooms can be AC or non-AC) the fee depends on the sharing a student opts for. The rooms are cleaned once every day or at least once in every two days. Restrooms are common restrooms that are also cleaned every day. (i.e 10-15 restrooms every floor) Hostel separate for men and women obviously. Rooms are available in abundance. Food: Veg and non-veg. (left to students' convenience to choose) Can opt for south Indian or north Indian style food. (fee varies accordingly) Food quality is good. Taste is moderate. But you get satisfactory meals during the afternoon). You get tea and snacks in the morning and evening every day. Varieties and the menu are changed often. There is a team of students called the hostel team elected every year. They decide the menu by taking suggestions from the students.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni are not very supportive. The management has not taken enough steps to build a strong community of students. I would say this to be one very big drawback of this University. They are least bothered once a student completes his education,

Exam Structure

Piece of cake. As the questions papers are created by our University professors. The exams tend to be very easy. It is more than enough to listen to lectures and note what they write on board. Problem-based papers like Maths, FM, SOM etc requires intense practice.

Admission

I was provided admission based on my HSC score (1017/1200). I was instructed to take up a preliminary entrance exam as my college was a deemed university. The scores of the test were unannounced still I got admitted to the college. There was a small interview with the admissions team, where the questions asked were very generic.

Faculty

3.5

As I was in the mechanical dept, all staffs are males. They are very friendly and last I heard there were more than 20 faculties who had completed their PhDs. All faculties are PG holders with minimum 3 years experience. There are faculties with more than 20 years experience. The HOD was a student-friendly person too. We cannot expect the faculties to have great communication fluency in English but they try to converse only in English during class hours.
