Nice college

Overall it is a good college with proper balance between academics and extra curricular activities. Campus life is what I miss now. Our relations with the professors are very friendly now and they still helps us for our career guidance. Management is responsive to students and faculties demands.

I took entrance exam called gujcet on the basis of which I got the admission in this college. I secured 55 marks out of 100 in the exam. My batch was the first batch of this college and the reason why I chose this college is because it is located in Surat City and the nearest college to the city center which offers degree engineering courses in automobile branch.

The institute is affiliated to Gujarat technological university and teaches course curriculum according to it. Course curriculum is very extensive with focus on general engineering subjects in the first year and afterwards subject related to branch specialization is taught. There is ample focus on research as faculties encourages the final year students to do projects with innovative ideas after doing lots of research on latest technologies in the respective fields.

Internships in the college is limited and only few students are able to get it. Stipend is given according to the industry norms though it will not be a big amount but certainly worth the kind of experience that we get from it.

Placement in the college does not come every year but yes some companies do come for the placements like maruti Suzuki dealerships, Tata motors, Volkswagen, mahindra and mahindra, etc. There are lots of IT companies which come for placement I don't remember there exact names as I am from automobile branch but knows about the placements in IT and computer science branch. Average packages are offered around 2.5 to 4.0 lakh per anum by the companies.

Every year the institute organizes annual function called spandan where lots of students get the chance to participate in various cultural, art, dance, music and sports from all the colleges of the organization. This annual function is simply awesome and grand. Various guests and dignitaries do come every year for the inauguration. In my time the governor of Gujarat Mr OP kohli visited the institute. Apart from this various days are also celebrated on various occasions.

Fees structure is slightly expensive for a middle class student but affordable for rich students. Fees was around 55000 per year in my time but it has increased to around 75000 per year now though this are not the exact figures as fees are subjected to changes from time to time.

The institute offers various scholarships availed by the state government for schedule caste and schedule tribe students as well as for female students.

Campus life is very enjoyable and warm atmosphere exists. Gender ratio is decent with more male students though there are decent number of female students as well. Students from all the cultures, religions, coloure are found which makes the students diversity good. There is no problem with the tolerance for students with diverse cultures everyone is accepted with warmth. Students with all the economic backgrounds are found. Various extra curricular activities are organized time to time like robotics, debates, paper presentations, etc.

There are very limited hostel rooms so mostly students have to find PG's the cost of which varies depending on the area. There are two canteens. Food is nice and cheap so that everyone can afford it. Ambience of the canteen is also nice and all the time busing with lots of students.

My batch was the first batch of this college so unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to interact with seniors. Now as we have become the alumni of the college, we are still in contact with the professors and also with each other. We are still invited for the annual functions and also there is annual alumni meet which is organized by the college.

There are regular labs sessions due to which the experiments completion is done on time without last moment burden. There are two internal mid semester exams in every semester and 1 university exam. Submission work sometime becomes hectic. Two mid semester exams makes the preparation for annual exam easy.

The admission in this college is done through a state level admission process called ACPC in which marks of PCM subjects and entrance exam JEE marks are combined to get the merit rank of candidates. Notification of the admission process comes after the result of 12 std in newspapers. Admission brochure is available from Punjab national bank and admission form is filled online. There are management quota seats also for which one has to contact the management of the institute. The administration is nice and everything is done centrally as there are various faculties apart from engineering like management, nursing, BEd, BCA, MCA, etc.

The faculty members are well qualified with industrial experience apart from academics. Professors are very cooperative,friendly and easily approachable for the students. Professors encourages students to give competitive exams and guides the students for the same.
