Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose general management as this provides wider options to explore and we can select specialisation after 1st year. Faculty: Student ratio = 1:12 95% of faculty are PHD holders and most of them have experience of more than 10 years. The teaching method is very much similar to IIM's and they teach through case studies and used practical examples to explain. Term exams are after every 3 months and exams are difficult but you can solve this because faculties teach very well in the class.

Internships Opportunities

4

Mostly all the good companies come in the campus for Internships like ICICI Bank, JP Morgan, TATA, Gartner, and many more. They offered good roles. I can't talk much about it because Internships did not start yet for my batch.

Placement Experience

4.5

You can get an Internship offer from August month of 1st year. More than 170 companies come to the campus. Companies visited on the campus are Bain&co., Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, ICICI Bank, TATA, Gartner, and many more. The highest Package of 2023 is 26,00,000 and Average Package is 12,32,000 which I heard from my seniors. Around 99% of the students get placed. I planned nothing yet about what I will do after getting the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition Fees for the year 2023 are INR 969100. There are multiple opportunities for scholarships. You can get Financial assistance from any top banks like SBI, IDFC, etc or NBFC like HDFC Credila. I did not get a job yet because I am in my 1st trimester only.

Campus Life

5

MBA annual fest is MELANGE and Tech fest is RENAISSANCE and is generally conducted in the second half of the year. The library has all kind of books and journals you want to study. Classrooms have all amenities which are required. KJ Somaiya has a number of sports events and they have a number of extracurricular activities also. There are so many clubs like Finstreet for finance, Mauj for m music nd all of them is run by Students only.

Admission

The basic eligibility to get admission to KJ Somaiya Institute of Management is to score more than 50% in 10th, 12th and Graduation. You have to give entrance exams like CAT, XAT, NMAT, GMAT or CMAT. You can find the application form on their website. Application Fee is around INR 3000. The admission process is too smooth so I don't want to see any improvement. The cutoff for KJ Somaiya Institute of Management for the year 2023 are: CAT - 83%ile, XAT - 72%ile, NMAT - 222, GMAT - 550, CMAT - 98%ile

Interview Experience

4

At KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, there is no group discussion but they have a very unique process they give case analysis and afterwards they take interviews. But first, you have to clear the Entrance exams cutoff. I prepared by myself.

Other Applied Colleges

Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies - [NMIMS Deemed to be University] | Master of Business Administration [MBA]

Placement Experience:

The average Lpa of the college is 9 lpa so it is good. Marketing gets 100% placement as compared to other streams. There is booth on campus and off campus placement. And the placement cells bring good companies and there are chances of PPO also.

College management is not that good, which I felt is need to be improved. making everything student centric makes it difficult for students as well as college to be organised.

We learned a lot from the curriculum and the college itself. My journey was a mixed bag of feelings with many sweet and sour moments. The classroom sessions were fun and so were the field visits and management activities like webinars or mock marketing competitions.

The university gives you a great exposure to shape up your life for a great future. There's absolutely no racism and everyone is treated equally. This is the only institute in pune where girls and boys are found in almost equal numbers. In fact girls are encouraged to become entrepreneurs.
