Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose the college for my research-based study. The faculty and student ratio is 6: 42, which means classes in a day are handled by 6 professors in a class of 42 students. The teaching methods of the faculties are good and the college has well-qualified teachers. The institution tests their student on how innovative they can be rather than reproducing whatever is read in a textbook. The test papers are challenging.

Internships Opportunities

4

Tech and non-tech companies came in offering placements. Also, there were publishing organizations that came forward. Students could write for publishing companies for a stipend starting from 2000- 5000rs. I have done subtitling for movies and translation works.

Placement Experience

4

Final-year students are eligible for campus placements. TCS, Capgemini. The packages vary from 2lakh - 4 lakh per annum. 60 percent of students from the final year across various fields of subjects get selected.

Fees and Financial Aid

Initially, when I joined in 2014 the research fee was 11000 for one year. Later the institution increased it to 18000rs. The research study is for 3 years and extended to another 2 and a bonus of 1 year. JRF is a scholarship a research-based candidate can avail of. Also, there is various financial assistance provided based on one's religion as it's a catholic institution. I used to teach and avail a stipend during my years on campus.

Campus Life

4

The institution has clubs for music, dance, elocution, and debate and students take part in these events throughout the year when intra-college and inter-college is organized. The institution has a great and updated library with almost all journals available. The class rooms are equipped with smartboards and speakers. Sports and extracurricular activities do happen. The National Cadet Corps is the best in the institution. The dance club is run by students.

Admission

The admission process happened smoothly. Didn't face much hassle. It's the paper works towards the university that took time. The fees were not too expensive then. The application had to be completed and processed at the university and soft copies suited at Stella Maris College administration office. I did not use the reservation benefits, but there are benefits that are available.
