Remarks

The college management here are more than average when it comes to student welfare and interaction. Student unions often meet with the management to ensure no miscalculated steps are taken by them, and the requests are complied greatly. The lifestyle within this college is top-class.

Entrance Preview

The Admission to this college is granted based on the marks of Assam CEE Engineering where I scored 121 out of 300 marks. When I was looking for an Engineering College to study in, the reputation of Kaziranga University was high in the wind despite being a new player in the field; with great campus selections and infrastructure. That's why I opted for this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is, in all it's duration, fantastic. It begins from all the fundamental values and revisions to gear us up for the upcoming years to come and as far as I have studied here, I have found the course to be of greatly efficient as we have been able to learn theories and practical works at the same time.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college has ties with dozens of companies, both state and national. Key companies include Amazon, Bosch, Google, Flipkart, Intel, NICMAR, JustDial, Microsoft, Nexa, Nestle and many notable others. The summer internship is for both final year and pre-final year students, and that provides genuine hands-on experiences with tons to learn.

Placement Experience

4

80% of the students who passed out of the college were placed in esteemed companies. the companies that come for campus selections are: Amazon, Bosch, Flipkart, Intel, NICMAR, JustDial, Nexa, Nestle, ICICI Bank, axis bank, SBI, JAGbros, Inurture, Maintec, Netcom Learning, PrimeFocus, Tata Consultancy services and many more. The salary packages are between Rs.20000 to Rs.40000 for Bachelor degrees and above RS.40000 for masters'.

College Events

5

The biggest event organised in the college is the Winter Festival in the beginning of a year , usually the 2nd week of January. It is a gigantic event, inviting colleges and universities of the whole state of Assam annd North-East India. Thousands of people attend the event, specially the evening concerts. The last two years at that event, the college had seen the talents of renowned national singers such as Zubeen Garg, Papon, K.K and Vishal-Shekhar. Robotics workshop and contests, singing/dancing contests, beauty pageants and literature events are held on a big scale with a large sum of prize money. Usually, the total sum of awards won is roughly estimated to Lacs of money. Apart from the Winter Festival, Management festivals held in the college include comapnies like Tata Consultancy Services which are attended by a large number of final year students from the whole state. Seminars are held periodically to keep the interest of students in study as well as other creative activities.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as I know, loans aren't very common around here, but since the college has active ties with the SBI and Axis Bank, taking loans is very easy for any student because the college provides sponsorship and referral for any kind of higher studies. The college has ties with Universities in Germany and Singapore, and when students are sent there from this college, adequate loans are provided.

Campus Life

4

I am a campus resident and will be till the very end of my study years. Enough of that to tell that the campus life is high-graded, almost like the foreign colleges with foreign food, regional food, uninterrupted power supply 24x7, huge playgrounds, outdoor sports courts, indoor stadiums and weekly movie shows. Gender ratio is somewhere around 3:2 and we have students from all over North-East India, also in some cases, central Indian states. There are Clubs for extracurricular activities, I, myself am the secretary of the literary club of the college. A minimum of one club membership is minimum for every student, which can include either cultural, educational or sports-related functions. Every club has to organise a minimum of one club event every month apart from their regular schedules. We have a quiz team and a debate team for state-level competitions, and recently, a workshop based on robotics and micro controllers was proposed inside the campus. The college has a monthly newsletter where students can write articles/poems and wall magazines for each of the for hostels.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is excellent. There are a total of 4 hostels: 2 for boys and 2 for girls. All the hostels are equipped with clean and spaced bathrooms, wifi, shops nearby for supplies and two canteens each. The traditional mess food is upto the mark, with good catering companies and food schedules that never get the students to fed up. I would rate the mess food 7/10. Hostel rooms are three or four seaters where the fees for three-seaters is more by about Rs.7000. Hostel seats are adequate and students never have to worry about setting off for PGs. One three-seater room has a fees of Rs.37500 per person per semester. One four-seater room has a fees of Rs.30500 per person per semester. One Air-Conditioned 2-seater room has a fees of Rs.60000 per person per semester. Hostels use a central WiFi system which is common for the whole college campus, with browsing speeds up-to 4 mbps and strong signals in almost every corner of the campus.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students of the college are wise, charismatic and act as such fabulous guides to us that we had never encountered before. Majority of them have achieved notable delegations, such as studying abroad in USA, Germany, they published multiple research papers and some of them achieved patents as well. We all are connected in Facebook and Instagram, creating a brilliant network of wisdom and friendship.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is given as follows: There are two sessional exams for each subject and the end-semester exam. Average marks are calculated from both the two sessional exams and are added to the total marks achieved in the final exam. The Lab exams are conducted only in the end-semester exams, while the sessionals completely comprise of theories. Students get enough time to study for each exam, never crammed into a corner by studies. Though given the course curriculum, if one wants to score high grades in the exams, a through study of all the topics is substantial. The grading system helps the students, with adequate step-markings and considerations of understanding.

Admission

The Admission form was downloaded online by me. Advertisements for new admissions usually go out from January. For the submission of the form, though, we decided to go to the campus in person, as we were interested in checking out the beauty of the structure we kept hearing about. Everything was great, and the reception as well as the administration treated us with great interest and dignity.

Faculty

5

The best thing about the education are the faculties. 90% of the faculties here give their everything to teaching as well as teacher-student interaction; so that every class is a bright attraction for us. Faculties are friendly, and their high qualifications make them brilliant guides for our future. Every syllabus for every subject is detailed and the level is adequate for everyone's understanding.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For a programme, most of the fundamental course help us build our foundations for applications in real life. It builds us, the knowledge we are required to have for solving issues related to this field. There are some department electives which we can choose as well as open electives which we can choose during the course of our programme, for us. That will be a total of 8 semesters. For doing best during the programme, I suggest, a student to do their best during the first 3 exams, since those exams are scoring but scoring in endsem becomes comparatively difficult due to extreme rigorous checking.

Placement Experience:

The college placement aren't much in our college because our college is too deep inside the area it's like a village area companies find it difficult to come here. Companies mostly come for chemical and mechanical engineering students to hire them. For electrical and civil you have to apply off campus. I don't know the highest package from our college but the recent package that was offered by mahindra to mechanical engineering students was 19000 per month. Atleast 35% students get on campus placement. My plan after degree is to pursue mtech or maybe BFA in Seoul, South Korea or maybe find a job outside india

Remarks:

The entire administration of the college is very careless. They don't seem to bother about the students at all. But they always put a bar on the attendence criteria. Each and every student need to have atleast 75% attendence in each subject. Otherwise penalty is imposed on them. Ironically classes are not conducted on a regular basis.
