Amazing ISM

The collge is overall excellent in my experience. Hope it will continue to serve the nation with same pace and even better than current speed.

IIT JEE , I scored 132 marks and chose this college because It is one of the best mining college and it was also in my hometown and famous college with much better placement records. So , I decided not to go any NIT and came here.

Course here is well organised along with projects from 3rd semester onwards. Here we have e;ectives from 7 semesters onwards and luckily I got data mining and image processing as elective in coming 7th sem. Everything is done here through a Management Info System online.

Yes , the college is blessed with a best training and placement cell which does its job with so much care that almost 100+ companies visit the campus every year for interships and placements.These comanies include samsung , walmarts lab , arista networks , CIL , ONGC , Shell , Uber etc

Approx 94% students are placed this year in computer science and similer in other branches. Like , in MINING MACHINERY 100% , in Petroleum 80 % , in mining 90% , in mechanical 95% , in electrical 80%. Adobe offered 38 lpa , Samsung 24lpa , Amazon 24 lpa , arista 18lpa , walmart 17 lpa.Google ppo off campus 38 lpa.

There are various events which are being organised and celebrated every year. The most awaited is SRIJAN , the cultural fest which is for three consective days and participants from college and other IITs and NITs come and enjoy this. Along with this stars from country and abroad are invited in the every evening of these three days to let students enjoy to their fullest. The second one is the technical fest CONCETTO which is also for three days. Next big event is BASANT MEET in which alumni from 50 year back are invited to the college and also some bands are invited to make them enjoy their alma maters.There are also many more like PRATIBIMB ,ANNUAL SPORTS MEET etc.

The fee structure was feasible till students who took admission on 2015. But from then , there has been a great hike in fee in all IITs , including IIT_ISM. I have to pay 1.3lac per annum but my juniors are paying 2.3 lac per annum approx.But there are other conditions and scholarships which make students bear their expanses inspite of this fee hike. Like , students get MCM scholarship every year in they come under top 35 % in their courses.The other is benevolent scholarship which is for students whose parent's income is less than 1 lac per annum.

Yes , the scholarships include MCM , Benevolent , Ishan rajvanshi , the director scholarship etc. There is bank called SBI ISM CAMPUS which provides education loan to the needy students every year.

The campus life is awesome.Here we have two grounds for extra curriculer activities , Computer centre which remains opens whole week from 8 am to 6 pm , main canteen which provides cheaper items than in markets , a big swimming pool , a great fully air conditioned central library etc. We also have 24x7 campus shuttle service which covers all the routes in the college without any charges to the travellers.The gender ratio is 10:2 here in btech but in other courses such as mtech and phds it is 1:1 approx. The labs are dynamic and versatiles. There are numerous clubs running in campus related robotics , drama , debates etc . There is also an active news reporting club called mailer Daemon. All of them are students initiatives and awesome.

The hostel facilities are excellent here. We have 24x7 electricity supply and internet connectivity.The hostels are well maintained and cleaned by sweepers regualarly. Each hostel has a small canteen and stationary shop. There is also facility of purified waters as severel auaguards have been set up in each floor. The security is also tight here as guards look after the hostel 24x7 and entries and exits are also mainted in the registers.

The IIT_ISM is also known for its senior junior relationship. Here , Juniors respect the seniors and in case of any difficulty , they regularly consult them. The seniors are also very helpful and supportive. They are the best guide to juniors. The Alumni network is strong here since its inception.There is great institute industry interaction is there all due to the best alumni working in their corporate world. They try to help the institute and contribute whatever they are capable of be it bringing comapnies to collge for intern and placements or giving current students a platform to think and choose best carrier option.

The exams are based on the lectures which professors give. The labs are frequent to provide practical knowledge to students. The exam consists of two tier in a semester one mide term and second end semester exam. Apart from this , reguler class assessments are being taken and proper assignments are given to make students busy and focus on the study.

I got admission through spot round which was held in ISM whenever vacant seats were there after reguler admission. So , I took the opportunity and got a seat here in environmental engg branch but later after hardwork in first year , I changed my branch to CSE as there is rule here that if you score 9 and above in first year , you get chance to choose your choice branch.

As we know the college is best rated with the quality of faculty and students along with infrastructure. Well , ISM with aroung 300+ faculties is well served since 1926. Being an institute of national importance , the faculties here leave no stone unturned to provide best quality education to the students along with they also holdsother position of responsiblites in the administrations for better management of the resources and other amenities in the college.
