Remarks

Really good overall and would recommend my juniors.

Entrance Preview

I appeared for IIT, JEE MAIN, and MHT-CET examinations and opted for this college because of two main reasons - I got the course which I was looking for (CS) and also the college being nearby to my house.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure I would say is evolving over the time. VESIT follows the curriculum decided by the University of Mumbai. I've seen a lot of new courses being included in the syllabus as compared to the older versions of it such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics etc. However, I feel there is still scope for improvement when it comes to focusing on Research. VESIT, however, has brought new opportunities in the field of research by including students in different projects and brainstorming sessions and I believe VESIT is doing really good when it comes to direct students towards research as compared to other colleges in the University of Mumbai.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college doesn't provide internships. However, students from VESIT do strive hard to gain such internships on their own. I personally did a lot of internships during my college days to gain some real world experience of industry standards and real world problems. The stipend varies a lot depending upon the type of company and the role for which you've been hired.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement and job opportunities have been more or less same over the years at VESIT. There are some huge names like Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan coming in every year and selecting the best talent. Also, there are companies like Accenture, LnT Infotech along with a few other coming in to hire students in large numbers. The package range usually has been more or less the same again, between 2.5/3 Lacs to 12-14lacs depending on the company. Also, I won't be the right person to answer this question as I didn't sit for the college placements.

College Events

4

Well, VESIT has a lot many events, intra as well as inter-college throughout the odd and even semesters. Be it Praxis- the technical fest, or Utsav - the cultural fest or Sphurti- the sports fest, it's super fun and involves the entire college to be a part of it and enjoy the moment. Also, small musical events and other aesthetic events keep happening across the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is pretty moderate as compared to other colleges in Mumbai. During my time it was 98k (approx figure) per year tuition fee. The administrative body along with the alumni body is super helpful when it comes to financial help to the student. This is one area where I would strongly recommend VESIT.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a couple of scholarships available for students based on their scores or how they perform in their FE and SEs. Ratan Tata scholarships and many other are available for students. But as I said earlier, the alumni body is super helpful towards the students in helping them fulfil their fee requirements.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio is pretty decent. The campus environment is healthy and fun. There are workshops happening all round the year for the students to explore more than just the curriculum. Politics or other things like raging and stuff are strictly prohibited inside the campus. Never seen any such instances during my four years of engineering.

Hostel Facilities

4

I used to stay at my home and commute daily to the college, so I won't be able to comment about the hostel facilities but yes, there are scarcity of rooms in the hostel as far as I have heard but then yes there are Paying guests and outside hostel services available near college for those who don't find a place in the hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network - super helpful. You can message any of your alumni and they are always there for help. Also, the E-cell has done a fabulous job bridging the gap between alumni and the student body.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is decent as it involves 2 unit tests, 1 mock viva session followed by actual vivas, practical exams and then the semester examinations. Yes, the lab sessions are mandatory to attend followed by maintaining a good updated journal/practical file which will, later on, be submitted to the lab in-charge during the viva session. Towards the end, it becomes a bit hectic to manage the files along with preparation of vivas and the written examinations.

Admission

I got admission to this college through MHT-CET. Though I had the option to apply using my JEE MIAN score as well but I opted for MHT-CET as it was well above the cutoff score at that time. Procuring the form and other admission stuff was very much similar to any other college under the University of Mumbai. The display of cut-off lists and other form filling activities went on smoothly. Also, the college admission staff was very helpful in helping the students with the overall procedure.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty in the VESIT are very helpful also at the same time very particular about the assignments and attendance. I being a student won't comment on the qualification of the faculties but I would strongly say there is some scope for improvement in this area for VESIT. As the syllabus and the curriculum keep on evolving, I believe the knowledge or the experience that the professors possess should also keep on updating otherwise the balance won't be maintained and the students will be affected.

Placement Experience:

Placements are usually pretty average of 7-10LPA and usually students with CGPA of 7-9 sit for the campus placements. I would say around 40% students get placed decently. If no campus placement, the course is so diverse that you can easily get jobs if you have the skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is half electronic and Computer science based . It is really useful for students opting for Robotics, Internet Of things , Vlsi , etc. But if you want to opt for fully computer science based stream or career, dont choose this stream as there is shortlisting issue during placement here for this stream
