A Memorable Experience in LPU

The admission process was conducted smoothly. I applied to several colleges including BHU, LU, Indraprastha, National PG, DU, etc. I also converted National PG and LU. But, I found LPU to be the most relevant of all in terms of opportunities in the campus and career enhancement fields. The admission criteria were very simple. I had to give an entrance test and appear for the GDPI process. After clearing all the selection criteria, I was called for counseling where my documents were verified.

I chose BBA because I was keen on knowing more about the corporate sector and in deep about the management field. The course was all about the different aspects of the management field and enhancing the overall professional career. Most of the faculties on the campus were well qualified and had done Ph.D. courses from well-reputed universities. The teaching module was PPT and weekly tests were given for conceptual understanding. MTEs were conducted in the mid sem which were purely MCQ-based. At the end sem, ETFs were conducted which were purely subjective. The overall cutoff score was 40% to pass the subject.

Several companies visited the campus for providing internship opportunities to the students. Stipend varied from 2-3k per month to 12-13k per month. Companies like Microsoft, Google, and Morgan Stanley visited the campus to hire the students.

Students are eligible for the placement from the last sem onwards. To avail of these services, every student has to pay 3k-10k for registering in the career services portal and it varied from course to course. The highest package offered- 12lpa Avg package- 5-6 LPA I am willing to pursue MBA after getting the degree.

Overall fees to be paid were sem wise. I got a 12k scholarship because I scored well above the cutoff score and got qualified for the scholarship bars. Tuition fees- 48k Hostel fees- 65k (4 seaters) Mess- 25k (Standard) Laundry service- 5k I did a summer internship on the campus and my monthly stipend during this 3-month internship was 4k.

My overall life on the campus was quite good and I enjoyed every second of it. Various events used to be held on the campus itself including Coke Studio, Run Fest, Motorbike Shows, events held by different LPU Clubs, etc. The library facility was also quite good. All the books and journals were timely available and newspapers were provided daily. Library also had AC Discussion rooms for preparations. Some Clubs in LPU were- Wissen Organisation Ojaswi SMS Pahal an Initation, etc.

The overall hostel facility was good. I opted for AC 4-tier room which cost me around 63-65k. The reg process too was quite easy. The University had a site named UMS in which we had to book the hostel and pay 10k in advance to lock this facility. A study table was given in the room and the room was well furnished. There was an attached washroom. However, the meal quality was quite below average.

LPU conducted its entrance test named LPUNEST in which there were 300 questions and the cutoff score was 140. I scored 190 well above the cutoff score and was then called for the GDPI process. Topics of PI were- * Tell me about yourself * Why LPU * Your Point on Demonetization * GDP of India * CM of states The topic of GD was- "Has India gotten rid of black money and corruption because of Demonetization?? Explain your viewpoint."
