Remarks

During my batch candidates interested in getting admission into KJ Somaiya Institute of Management were required to fill out an application form. Post which they were shortlisted for the CA-PI round on the basis of cut-offs (Different cut-offs for different entrance exams). The First is CA Round - It is a case assessment round where we were given a topic to speak on, total time duration was 10 minutes (5 minutes for reading, 3 minutes for explaining, and 2 minutes for Q&A) The second is PI Round - It is a personal interview with two faculty from the college KJ Somaiya has a Gujarati Quota however, it hardly makes any difference. Greater emphasis is given to PI round. If you craked the PI round you have high chance of getting through

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose the MBA course as it would allow me to understand different subjects during the first year so that I can choose my specialization during the second year based on my interest. Most of the faculty teaching at KJ Somaiya are highly qualified individuals with industry experience.

Campus Life

5

Due to covid, my classes were held online. However, I had the privilege of visiting the campus for our committee event. KJ Somaiya has one of the biggest campuses in Mumbai. There are different sports facilities like professional football ground, turf, basketball court, Running Track, and Harry potter style chessboard. The college also has a gym which is only accessible for students.

Interview Experience

4.5

I had CD-PI and my topic for case discussion was "Should freedom of speech include jokes made on religion" Then I had to give a Personal Interview where the main focus was on work that I did, and why I want to do an MBA. Most of the people were from my batch asked these kind of questions. I did my preparation by thoroughly going through my CV and reading lots of news on different topics.

Placement Experience:

The average Lpa of the college is 9 lpa so it is good. Marketing gets 100% placement as compared to other streams. There is booth on campus and off campus placement. And the placement cells bring good companies and there are chances of PPO also.

College management is not that good, which I felt is need to be improved. making everything student centric makes it difficult for students as well as college to be organised.

We learned a lot from the curriculum and the college itself. My journey was a mixed bag of feelings with many sweet and sour moments. The classroom sessions were fun and so were the field visits and management activities like webinars or mock marketing competitions.

The university gives you a great exposure to shape up your life for a great future. There's absolutely no racism and everyone is treated equally. This is the only institute in pune where girls and boys are found in almost equal numbers. In fact girls are encouraged to become entrepreneurs.
