IIIT Kottayam Review

There are only a few colleges available in India that provide course-related in Information Technology, cyber security, AI, and Data Science. IIIT Kottayam is quite a popular college in terms of education and it is also granted the status of Institute of National Importance by the Ministry of Education. So I decided to do my M.tech program from IIIT Kottayam as the admission process is also simple and smooth. Candidate must pass the written entrance test of IIIT Kottayam and must secure a minimum of 60% in graduation related to the concerned stream followed by the PI round.

The curriculum IIIT Kottayam is designed according to the latest and modern industrial changes. The curriculum mainly focuses on Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, data structures, web developments, etc. The first year of the curriculum mainly focuses on theoretical knowledge and focuses on helping to understand the importance of AI technology and in the second year the curriculum focuses on practical research work and the implementation and impact of AI technology into the real-world scenario. Second-year mainly focuses on the research work. Methods like case studies, Simulations, virtual labs and Remote labs are used to allow students to apply concepts to simulate the real world and to understand the impact of the technology.

The internship is optional because most of the students are involved in research work. If anyone who wants to opt for an internship the college placement committee helps them as companies are invited during the internship program. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Alibaba visit the campus during the internship, and the stipend ranges from Rs. 20000/- to Rs 100000/- depending on the no of weeks of internship.

The placement record of the college is good enough the placement record of the college is 100%. The placement committee is very hardworking and is able to attract the market leaders of the industry for placement. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Infosys, Wipro, Oracle, Google, Apple visit the campus during the placement drive. The highest package for our batch went up to 25 LPA and the average package is around 8.30 LPA. I was also able to secure a placement with the package of 15 LPA.

The college also provides scholarships for merit students. The college provides scholarships for SC/ST/PD students. An education loan facility is also available. The admission department will help you out and guide you if you are availing of the education loan facility. The campus is very spacious and is surrounded by greenery. DHRUVA is the annual fest of the college and small fests are regularly organized during the festive season of India. The college is equipped with lots of facilities like GYM, Auditorium, Open Air Auditorium, ATM, Football, Cricket, the ground is also available. The seniors of the college are very friendly and cooperative. The cultural club of the college is also active and gives students to take part in various activities. there is a rotational policy in the club where every student gets a chance to be part of the cultural club and manage the events of the college.

The hostel rooms are big and are cleaned daily. The hostel is equipped with all the basics and modern facilities like washing machines, water geyser is also available. The hostel also has 24-hour high-speed internet connectivity. The menu is decided by the student of the hostel as there are representatives in the mess from the student side. In simple words mess is driven by the student of the hostels.

The faculty of the college is very professional and highly qualified. The faculty of the college are highly experienced most of the faculty also have research and industrial experience. The faculties are ready to help students to identify their weaknesses and to motivate them for their academics and non-academics activity.
