Remarks

College management is quite professional. However some teachers are very poor managers and dont maintain records properly because of which people lose marks on internals and even get not satisfied sessional requirements

Entrance Preview

College entrance test for PG course. Opted for this course as it was near my home. Also I did not get in Design, but got in Manufacturing

Course Curriculum Overview

3

For PG courses, the highly qualified lecturers and doctorates conduct the classes. Computer subjects though good are not sufficient. Teachers want to deliver good stuff to PG students. Labs need to get improved. New machinery and high end computing systems need to be made available to students to improve overall ranking of this college for this PG

Internships Opportunities

No they dont provide intership. But GATE candidates get stipend from UGC i think. I dont know the exact amount now. But previoiusly, it was i think some 800 to 1200. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes get lots of benefits.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement and job opportunities are quite good in this college. Earlier they used to offer 1.8 lacs. 2.4 lacs,,etc. Now it must be more. Even IT companies like TCS would consider recruiting Masters Degree candidates. However some jobs involve jobs such as service engineer to repair and maintain diesel equipment.

College Events

2

For PG the interest level in cultural festivals are quite low. Though it is big in UG. They used to have festivals like MILAGRO which is an inter institute kind of cultural festival It is highly popular among undergraduates, but for PG students it is mostly a kind of time pass or time permitting event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure when I passed was about 18000 for three semesters. It was expensive then considering it is a PG course. But it is not too expensive compared to studying abroad for similar programs. But the current level of fees is not known to me. It must be higher many times over.

Fees and Financial Aid

As already mentioned, there is gate that provides scholarship of some amount if the students prefer to get admitted in that scheme of things. However the scholarship amount was okay but not too much and fewer GATE candidates join this institute. Though some do join.

Campus Life

3

IN our course there were no females. As already mentioned. extracurriculars are pretty low key events for post graduate students. Probably they are more inclined to work or dont have time. Other thing is that some of the students are already working as lecturers somewhere else and dont have enough time to participate in these events and workshops.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

In my time, the hostel was poor and mess food also very poor. I did not use the hostel facilities nor the mess food but only heard about it from others. I think the rooms were shared by three persons per room. However, it appears to be cheap compared to other types of accommodation.

Alumni/Alumna

In my opinion alumni network is helpful initially but as time goes by the influence of alumni fades away

Exam Structure

Exams are board exams and some subjects like statistical quality control were quite tough. Also some students used to find the computer subject tough as all the topics were crammed up into one subject only. Labs are okay and they need to improve with better machines and higher end computing facilities

Admission

Pay money in the counter and collect the form. Fill up the form. Attach Degree Certificates and Marks Cards. Submit the filled up form with relevant documents. Write the entrance test. Wait for the results. Results will take into account even BE marks. Other option was to write GATE and based on that get some scholarship.

Faculty

3

Most of the faculty are very committed. They deliver very high quality education especially the doctorates and also some lecturers. Some of the lecturers need motivation to impart good knowledge to the students. Some of the faculty are having overseas education and share those experiences to the students which inspires some of the students to go for Doctorate.

Placement Experience:

IIIT Banglore is well-known for its placement opportunities. The college not only has high educational standards but also offers competitive placement packages. Every year, the college retains a 100% placement record, with the highest selection package reaching up to 46 LPA and the median wage package being around 19 LPA, which are very good packages in contrast to many engineering colleges of such stature. Members of the college placement panel are also highly professional and have extensive industrial experience.

The management is good and is always responsive to the student needs. A lot of the things in the college is student run so there is less interaction of ordinary students with the management. Every thing is done through the SAC (Students Activity Committee).
