Life at SIMS

I have applied for 3 colleges under the SYMBIOSIS umbrella namely SIBM, Pune SIMS,Pune SCHMRD, Pune. In SIMS Pune i got admission through the defense quota. If we talk about the criteria of college First you have to give a snap exam after that if you are in the cut-off list then you are invited for GDPI Round which is a very fun loving and learning experience for me. The academic criteria for SIMS is at least 50% marks in graduation and not particular about age. After GDPI rounds are over of all the selected candidates the college releases the final list of selected candidates who got admission in SIMS.

Marketing is something which suits me Because of my personality traits that's why i choose marketing as a major subject. The faculty is very experienced and helping nature .They will guide you personally if you feel so. Most of the faculties are Ph.D. and have prior experience in corporate. Term exams were in every 3 months .If you are taking classes regularly it is not a big task to pass through with good marks.

The summer internship starts after 2 months of starting college and it goes till mid of the second semester . Companies like DCX , DELOITTE, CREDIT SUISSE , GOOGLE etc join the SIP. Each company has a different scenarios of selection.

The students become eligible for placement in 3rd semester. The placement rate is 95 percent and most of the top companies visited the campus for different job roles. The average package is stood at 10.56 lakhs and the highest Salary offered is 24 lakhs I want to become a consultant after my course.

There is a fees hike of 10% every year. If we talk about the cost to study in a great environment of sims it is totally worth it. The return on investment is 100-150% which is better than most of the tier 2 colleges. the college also provides different scholarships in different fields like CFA Scholarship program is one of the best scholarships in college.

If we talk about the annual fest and other fests. I don't have much idea about that because of covid i have not visited the campus yet. But the availability of books and journals is up to date on the online portal as well. All the classrooms are equipped with air conditioners and smart boards with the proper furniture. Extra co-curricular activities are organized by different clubs in each 10-15 days. The best thing about SIMS is the whole GDPI process is student-driven and there are so. Many clubs are managed by Students.

Each room has 3 to 4 beds occupancy. An almirah is also provided in the room and for washing clothes, a washing machine is also provided by the institute. The quality of the meal is quite better and eatable. There is no process for a hostel. It is compulsory for all students to live in the hostel during the course.

Basically, in SIMS it is not GD it is more of the story made from different pictures presentable on the screen and make a story out of it with a moral. There is a team of 5 candidates who are working together and has to make a story in a limited time. After GD personal interviews start where a panel of specialists from different fields will judge you on different parameters.They cover all the aspects from your academics to hobbies to General knowledge.I have joined a coaching class and also practice mock interviews with my friends and teachers'.
