Remarks

I applied to few engineering colleges first. But I was not so much into Engineering. Among Arts and Science colleges you'll get the best placement opportunities is SSWC. The minimum score must be 50% in 10+2. If you scored more than 90%, you can avail of a scholarship. The minimum age to apply for UG is 17. The admission process is not complicated. It's quite simple. You just have to fill the application form and pay advance fees like 4000 Or 5000 and your admission is done.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose BCA because I had an interest in computers. The faculty are quite friendly here. There is more than 6-7 staff per department. It depends upon the size of the department. The faculty is Okay. If you are a student with adequate knowledge you'll feel bored. Or else you can learn well. There are extra skill classes where subjects apart from the syllabus are taught. But those skill classes are not too good. They'll teach you only the basics. There will be a cycle test every Wednesday. There will be two internal exams which will be split into 5 units. Then there will be a mid-term exam, 1 or 2 model exams, and then a semester. In between, you'll have practicals too. For practical there will be only one model.

Internships Opportunities

4

In every semester you have to do an internship and get a certificate. You can choose a company on your own. The college will also give you some suggestions like Techforge, Odugaatech, Capgemini, etc. Students from Medical streams went to Neuro Foundation for internships. It is completely your own choice. But it is compulsory to do at least one internship per semester from the first year itself.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement training will commence from the 4th semester. You are eligible for placement by the end of the 5th Semester. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Mphasis, Tech Mahindra, and many others will recruit students. 1500+ job offers are made and one student can get from 1 - 7 offers depending upon their skill. You'll get packages ranging from 1.5L to 4L per annum. More than 98 percent of students who have enrolled for placements will get placed for sure. My plans are to pursue Postgraduation after this degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees range from 30000 to 36000. It depends upon the course you are going to select. BCA and B.sc Computer Science have the highest fee structure whereas B. A Tamil has the lowest. The scholarship is available for securing more than 90% in 10+2 and for students with single parents. If you join under the sports quota then the education is free. You'll have to pay only exam fees. Buses are free. You don't have to pay any bus fees. Along with exam fees, maintenance and fest fees will be collected. All the fests are so grand and you can enjoy them a lot here. Placements are pretty good. In Salem city, for an Arts and Science college, SSWC gives you the best placement training and offers. Mentors from various companies like QSpiders, GTT, IBM, Infosys, etc. Will come and train students for placement. And you'll be placed for sure if you take this training seriously. You'll get offers in the range of 1.5L to 4L per annum. It all depends upon your skill.

Campus Life

5

It's fun to go to college. Though it's a women's college and mobile phones are not allowed. Still, you'll have an amazing life here. Staffs are too friendly. Friendship day, Pongal, women's day, Crescendo (annual fest), farewell, and many other events are celebrated. For minor events, students will get the opportunity to organize events. You can work in teams. It'll be fun. Sports and NCC are given importance for students who want to pursue. Even a girl from B. A Tamil (Subhashini)won the championship in Commonwealth Games 2019 in Para Judo. Our college supported her. There are many clubs here. You can join any of you're interested. Adequate books are available in the library. You can get them. Please return/renew it on time or else you'll be fined. The campus life is actually fun here and you'll learn a lot.
