Nikhil Kumar Pathak's Review On IIMT College Of Engineering, Greater Noida

I got this college from UPSEE. My ranking was quite low. The college accepts students with ranking upto 125000 in UPSEE. I always had an interest in Software Development, so i decided to take CSE branch. The admission process through UPSEE is same for an college of APJAKTU (formerly UPTU).

Course structure is as prescribed by the APJAKTU. The curriculum details are provided by the APJAKTU. And all affiliated colleges have to follow up the same course. The curriculum is good and matches the standards of today's requirements. Although less inclined towards practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge.

College does provide an internal program after 3rd semester. But it's not good at all. It's a waste of time. Other than that a dozen students were provided internships at IIT Kharagpur. Other than that the training and placement department sometimes also recommends some students for internship with the help of passes out students.

Opportunities provided definitely don't match up the number of students. Very few good companies came to the campus. More placements took place from pool campus placement drives than campus placements. Some companies that came to college were Webkul India pvt. ltd. , selected two students at 2.4 LPA. The packages by companies coming to campus was between 1LPA to 3.2LPA.

There is an annual technological-fest,cultural fest. One can showcase his talents at these events. I myself participated in debate, Gaming and coding competitions and won cash prizes and trophies. These events are inter-college that means that other colleges can participate. There is a nominal fee for taking part in the events. The events are manged by students, so it helps students to learn management.

Loan facility is not provided by college itself. You can avail the loan letter and contact any bank of your choice. There is a state run scholarship program, which provided Rs.75000/year if your father's income is less that 2 lac per year.If you come in top three of the university exams, you'll get Rs.2 lac per year.

Campus life is fun if you are able to balance the studies and fun. There is no case of racism or sexism. The students are mostly from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Delhi region. There are some workshops arranged by the college. There is an annual cricket competition, where over 4-5 teams take part.

There is an alumni meet once a year for 3rd year and 4th year students to share experience and guide students. The college calls around 4-5 students who got good placements in the passing year. The college seniors are helpful and friendly.

Exam structure is as decided by APJAKTU. Exam structure is chilled out. Sometimes practicals do take more than half of the day. But its not too much pressure and time consuming. Sessionals (Internal exams) occur three times in a semester, on which the internal marks depend which make a part of your university result. As mentioned before the sessionals are only theoretical and no lab exams take place.

The college has very good faculties. They have good theoretical knowledge. The faculties are helpful and are not allowed to skip classes due to managerial rules and regulations.There is a shortcoming of practical knowledge over theoretical knowledge. Only a few faculties handful faculties emphasise over the need of Practical knowledge.
