Acharya Institutes of Technology

I applied for JSS Academy of Technical Education and CMRIT but I didn't attend due to the stream it was offering and also the location was also not favourable for me. I didn't avail any quota for admission. I entered this college through COMEDK. For a student to be applicable for the ISE stream they should have a rank of 15000 to 25000 in the entrance test. My marks were 82 and my rank was 16700. The candidate should have 60% or above 12th board marks. The counselling was held offline in my time and it was in Bangalore. On the counselling day, we were allotted the college based on our preference that we filled in and our ranks.

In Acharya, ISE is considered one of the best course streams to study as it has a remarkably good placement history. Also, the ISE faculties are too good and are very helpful in the time of need. There is also a good faculty: student ratio in the ISE department and the faculties can give ample time to every student individually. All the teachers are highly qualified and they have a good knowledge of the subject that they are teaching. They are very supportive and always keeps the class engaged. Their teaching methods are very effective as once I hear the lectures, I only have to revise for the exams as they make every doubt clear in the class itself. For 4 years we have 8 semesters and for each semester we have 3 Internal Assessment tests and 1 External Assessment Test. The internals happens roughly after every 1.5 months and the Externals are held at the end of the semester. Rest we have class quizzes and class tests for self-assessments.

Acharya provides many different internship opportunities and the internships offer starts from the 5th semester mainly. The companies like Coding Ninja, BYJU'S, ad many other provides the internship offers for roles like campus ambassador, developer, project manager, web developer and many more. Many companies provide good stipends and also there are many things to learn under these internships. It helps in building up confidence and self esteem. We are provided with many different types of projects and tasks that involve major and minor tasks and every project is either individual or team project. These projects are a great way to build up communication skills and improve your teamwork.

The placements of our college are better than average. The campus placements start from the 7th semester and many companies like Infosys and Accenture comes as mass recruiters from our college. Also, many other companies like LG, TCS, Wipro, HSBC, Hiver, BYJU'S, Bata and many more comes with great placement opportunities. The highest package can go up to 12 to 15 Lakhs per annum with an average of 5 to 6 lakh per annum. It has jobs like data analyst, web development, management and so on. On average, at least 80% of students are placed by the end of the 8th Sem, they just have to maintain an average 7 GPA and should not carry any back in the 7th sem. I plan to get placed after I get the degree and then focus to hone my skills more and then search for a better job opportunity.

The college fees differ for every branch. For CSE and ISE the fees are 2.55 Lakhs per year, for ECE the fee is 1.87 Lakhs per year and so on. Then we have to purchase lab records, notebooks, college dresses, lab coats and a few more things which roughly costs around 6K. The hostels are very good and it has three types of rooms for double sharing (1.55 Lakhs), triple sharing (1.15 Lakhs) and Quadruple sharing (4 students in 1 room)(80 Thousand or so). The college provides various quotas and scholarships to the students. It also has a policy that provides Financial Assistance if we want in which they provide us with a 0% interest Loan to help with the college fees. I am currently in 2nd year so I haven't got placed yet.

Acharya is mainly known for its diverse and fun campus life. We have many cultural fests organised throughout the year and one college Fest that is considered the biggest fest in Bangalore that goes by the name of Acharya Habba. There are tech competitions from time to time. Our library is also the biggest and has many subject related books enough for every student with a large number of journals. Classrooms are well maintained and have all the basic facilities. Our college conducts various sports events and has a team for almost every sport and all the events happen in a real size college stadium. It also conducts many extracurricular activities like tech, essay, rangoli, and different other competitions. Our college has many clubs ranging from nature clubs to photography, literature, music, dance and many more. All the clubs come under IICA that is an independent association of all the clubs which provides fundings and all.

The hostels are clean and spacious and each room has an attached bathroom to it and you can decide whether you want to have one, two or three roommates with you. There is a backup power facility present and there is also a WiFi and LAN connection which provides a good speed internet. The meal changes every day for the week and every week it's the same schedule. The food is good and fresh and you can register your complaints with the warden if you want any change or if you are facing any issues. The registration process is simple and you can easily book the room by filling one form and paying the money and they provide you with a tour before choosing the room so it's very convenient. The hostel's triple sharing is ideal and affordable and it contains mess facilities also. The locality is good and filled with mostly students. There is optimum security 24 X 7. There are many great cafes, restaurants, stationery shops, gaming parlours, saloons and many more shops nearby.
