Remarks

Good or Bad, College part is always the best part of life. Those 4 years are the golden years. Doesn't matter how many issues you face, as the end, you overcome them.

Entrance Preview

UPSEE, opted for this college as I had heard about this from my siblings, and did a little research about this online. As per my rank in UPSEE, this was one of the good colleges I could get.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course structure of UPTU or GBTU, is nearly same as all other Engineering institutes in India, they have a defined way of preparing the students for the market. still, I believe, the practical approach was less in the course, and more emphasis was on theoretical knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college did not provide any sort of internship, and hence this question is not applicable here.

Placement Experience

1.5

The educational infrastructure in UP is not good. The system there does not attract most of the companies to come to the college and select students. The companies go to a handful of colleges only, and there also, select only 5-10% of students. They don't go to medium colleges, and their preference is always the top institutes. Plus the Corporate exposure in UP is less, and hence the students face a lot of challenges in getting a start for their careers.

College Events

3

Annual programs, few cultural activities, and the regular fresher and farewell parties. so on this part, the college was good, and they were able to deliver to some extent, what was expected. Campus culture was fine, and as all other students, I have some of the best memories of my life created in the same campus/events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very expensive, I remember I had to pay 65K+ per semester, and the students who joined in the next years, the fee went upto 1Lakh per semester as well. So, for a middle class student, like me, it was very challenging for my parents to cope up with the huge fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, few scholarships were there, but from the govt., not the college. They were hard to avail, as most of them are for the minority/SC-ST/and BPL students only.

Campus Life

2

Campus life is good, gender ratio is very poor, in 60-65 students, there are only 4-5 females, as girls generally don't opt for Engineering(or I should say Maths in the 12th). Competitions held but very few, not open for all, as they were poorly communicated among the students.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel was fine, but still I would say not good. The washrooms were always dirty, cleaned once in a week. The mess food was pathetic on weekdays, and only served eatable food on Sundays, with desserts. Rest of the week, it was all salt less/ spice-less food.

Alumni/Alumna

No, the Alumni network is very less functional. Senior students are also facing the same challenges as we face, so nothing much to say here.

Exam Structure

Exams, Labs are all not up to the mark. Labs are there, but even the lab assistant has difficulties with the equipment. Its not one college, its the situation in all colleges of UP. Exams are again - impractical, there can be repetitive questions. Even if I have answered the question properly, there is no guarantee that it will generate proper marks.

Admission

Applied through UPSEE, cleared the exam, got the rank, went through the general counseling where I had to prepare a list for desired colleges as per my rank. Put IIMT on the list, then the counseling system allotted me the college, went there, and submitted the fee for the first semester, and completed the rest formalities.

Faculty

2

Not bad, not good. Most of the faculty was passed out from the same college in past years, and was quite young, hence they did not know how to process the knowledge and transfer it to students, though they had the information. However, few professors who had tenure, did know how to teach.
