Overall experience of SCMHRD

The admission process is very straightforward. Take SNAP and check the eligibility criteria of your course according to your marks and apply. Minimum marks required was above 100 in SNAP and no such age limit is mentioned but generally, people with 4-7 years of experience apply along with a mix of freshers as well. The counselling process is also very straightforward. Once you have submitted your scorecard and cleared PI then they will call you will be received an offer letter for the course you have applied and you can submit the deposit to secure the seat and then the first instalment.

I chose this course to understand the business aspect of Analytics. I was working in the same field but wanted to explore the business side after exploring the technical side for 5 years. The faculty members are very helpful, they are strict in terms of assignment and tests but very helpful. Also, faculty to student ratio is 1:20 so, it is easy to reach out to them. They are well qualified with maximum faculty holding a doctorate or Master's degree. The overall learning experience is good so far, but the schedule is tight and one has to be on their toes to cope up with competition as scoring good in exams is difficult due to the fast pace & volume of the syllabus and a regular worker attitude is required.

There are a lot of companies that usually come to hire for internships and offer the role of the intern. However, the projects and role offered will not necessarily be the ones in which you are studying. So, you have to take up the internship role to boost your CV and gain some corporate experience, especially if you're a fresher. Big companies like Mercedes to small/new startups also come to hire interns.

After two semesters, you are eligible for internships and once your first term gets over then companies start coming and you are being prepared for the interviews by the faculty and certain clubs. In this course in SCMHRD many consulting/IT companies like Accenture, Capgemini, CTS come and banks like Bank of America come to recruit students during campus placements. The average package goes between 12-13 lac but the students getting placed with the higher package and the one with lower has a vast difference. My plan would be to study hard and work regularly on tests and assignments and get placed as early as possible.

There is a certain % hike of fees is implemented every year and it increases from 50k-1lac/year. However, if your marks in 10th, 12th and Bachelors are good and you have some work experience then the university provides scholarship as well. In some case, they will provide scholarship by looking at your profile and in some cases, you'll have to write to them for the scholarship.

There are several clubs and committees that a student can join. however, the interaction and all is online due to the pandemic but that's a regular thing in SCMHRD. The classrooms are equipped with projectors, wifi and all the digital gadgets required to study. The books are available in the library and digital copies of those can also be accessed via a central library website to access all the required books for your course. The annual fest and parties are organised but due to pandemic, we have not got any privilege to enjoy one. In extra-curricular, if you are a sports enthusiast then you can opt for any indoor or outdoor game and organize club level activities.
