Remarks
Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda was my dream college because it has a historical significance. It was first established in 1881 and in 1949 it became a university. The fee structure too is cheap for my course as well. For admissions, I applied online, filled the form, paid an amount of Rs 300 and submitted it along with my personal details. there are two ways to get admission. One is direct admission which is merit based depending on class 12 results and the other was sitting for the entrance test followed by the GD/PI. After being shortlisted, I then paid the admission fee and then I was ready to study in my dream university.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was a period of three years. In it I learnt about business administration, finance and accounting management, economics and taxation and many other topics which helped me to understand what BBA was all about. I did not have much idea about BBA because it was due to my father I opted for this course, but as I proceeded further I learnt a lot of things from it and it was eventually a good decision. We had 7 faculty members to conduct our classes. It was all lecture based and we also had to do assignments. The assignments carried marks for the university exam.
Placement Experience
I do not have much idea about the college placement because I never opted for it. From what I have heard NGO companies do visit the campus for recruitment. In my case after getting my BBA degree, I started working as a Data scientist in flipkart and my starting salary was RS 20000. I worked here for a year and then decided that it was best to pursue my MBA for a better prospect. For a BBA graduate, the sky is the limit as there are job opportunities like Business developer, manager posts as well or can even sit for UPSC exams.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for a program like BBA was much cheaper when compared with other colleges in India. My total fees was around rs 75000, when I include all the charges. I do not know about any fees hike as such but we do have scholarships provided for ST,SC and OBC. We also have sports quota and merit based quota.
Campus Life
We have many groups and student unions as well. The student union acts as a communicator between the faculty and students. Some of the groups are NCC, NSS, DSO, ABVP and NSUI. We also have hostels for boys as well as girls. It is well maintained and has a good mess. The food is very delicious and has quality. We also have access to WIFI and good college library with well maintained classrooms. The university organizes youth festival as well.
