Aradhya Pandey's Review On RNS Institute Of Technology - [RNSIT], Bangalore

I chose this College for my Bachelor's in CSE because it is located in Bangalore which is the silicon valley of India. Professors in the CSE department are very helpful. Alumni of this college are reachable and provide industry knowledge to freshers. My admission to RNSIT is through COMEDK although they take admissions from KCET and management quota as well. On the internet I had read this college is spread over 125 acres but after jointing, I found that the College has less infrastructure till now. It is constructed in only 25 acres rest land is left barren. We have 2 badminton courts (you can play only between 4 pm-6 pm), 1 football ground, 1 cricket ground. I chose this college over SMVIT, CMRIT, NMIT because this college is most close to the main IT city Bangalore, and the placement of the CSE department is very well last year amazon, Adobe, hashed in, etc have picked some students. To be honest, firstly I consulted my relatives and secondly, I went to Quora.

I always wanted to study computers and during my school days, I used to love coding. Since Computer Science is a most coveted branch and RNSIT provides a good number of opportunities to CSE students I chose it. The student to faculty ratio is approx 8. There are 26 professors in the CSE department out of them 10 have completed PhD and 4 are pursuing the rest are all M.tech qualified. Some professors have done PhD from foreign universities. We have projectors and green boards in classes. Teaching is mostly VTU syllabus-based. Since this college is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University so end semester exams are conducted by them and before that we have 3 internal exams in each semester. They are conducted generally in every 2 months gap. Internals match university exams difficultly or I would say they are a little bit more. But we can ace through them by attending classes and reading notes given by our professors.

Adobe, Cimpress, Amazon offered internships of roles of a software developer. Cisco came for cybersecurity. Internships are also given based on competition hosted by colleges and companies. Adobe gave 1 LPM stipend.

After 6 semesters students are eligible for placements. Companies visiting our college with offers are Amazon(1), cimpress (8), hashedin(3), Infosys(31), Healthedge(6), Appleindia(2), TCS(23), Cognizant(30), Accenture (39), Deltax(2), Thoughtclan(3), Mindtree(9), Landmark group (1). The highest package offered is 19 LPA by Amazon and the average package for Computer Science is 6LPA. The placement percentage is 96. My plan after is to become an entrepreneur.

The fee is 201960 per year for students admitted through COMEDK. Hostel costs about 86K per year. Students admitting through KCET Karnataka as well have 56K fees per year. The scholarship is provided to students who are SC/ST and physically handicapped which ranges from 60K to 200K. Students who have completed class 10th and 12th from Karnataka can avail more scholarships given by the state government.

Pantheon is the cultural and technical fest organization by RNSIT which happens twice a year(March and October). The college has a library which 37K volumes. Books are available to read in the library from 8 am to 11 pm. You can issue a maximum of 3 books at a time. Classrooms have projectors and green boards, there are no ACs. We have a basketball court, football ground, badminton court, and cricket ground. We also have dance, debate, fashion, coding clubs. 'Mymike' is a very famous event hosted by the MBA department which brings famous people from various career backgrounds to share their stories.

The registration process of the hostel includes your health report and payment amount and it is quick. There are 3 sharing rooms for freshers. The rooms are quite large with an attached bathroom they have a table, chair, bed and cupboard for each one. Hot water is provided in common space from 6 am to 9 am and 4 pm to 6:30 pm. Mess food is cooked by Sodexo. The food offered is surprisingly good. We are provided with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu includes both north Indian and south Indian items.
