Remarks

College is known for its impeccable placement record. It's kind of a guarantee that you will get a job if you ensure to pass all the courses. Campus life is great with its huge campus(more than 100 acres). The college has a strict 5 internal policy which makes it very difficult to score maximum grade in a course. Very fewer teachers in Computer Science are well experienced. Majority of the admissions are based on KCET. Remaining seats are filled with COMED-K and management. Admissions start from June and go on till August as there are many rounds of counselling. You can choose thus College for the placement records it holds.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I was always interested in computer science. Faculty: Student ratio is almost at 8. Many of the faculty are Master degree holders while a few PhD's do exist. The teaching method is mostly the usual slide method. Term exams are done at exact times and its medium to difficult to pass the exam.

Internships Opportunities

4

Your placement offer will generally be with an internship in the 8th Semester. Where you will have to work in Bangalore and go back to Mysore on weekends to attend classes. Your final year project is evaluated very strictly and it has to be a working model.

Placement Experience

4

Students start getting placed from 7th semester. A lot of fortune 500 companies will appear for placements. An average number of offers made by them will be around 7. Almost all students get placed. I too got a job on campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

Cost to study is very nominal if you are from CET else it's very high. Caste based scholarship do exist as I'm a General candidate no scholarships were available for me. I got an R&D engineer job with internship.

Campus Life

5

The annual fest of SJCE is called Jayciana. It's one of the best in the state. Its a really fun event which all students look forward to. It's not just abt the fest but the environment for the week is magical. The library is generally packed. But you are allowed to borrow only 3 books at a time. Almost all sports teams are present. All branches have their clubs. IEEE is present. There is also a sahas club for adventure activities.

Hostel Facilities

4

You get a room with a bed and table. You also get a storage cabinet to store your belongings. Rooms are pretty spacious enough. Both North Indian and South Indian are made. Food is not that tasty but for everyday food it's fine. You have to register for the hostel when you get admitted to college and based on different parameters your admission is decided.

Interview Experience

4.5

Test pattern basically starts with an attitude test. Group discussion is company-specific. It may or may not happen. 2-4 technical interviews will be conducted. If you happen to succeed in them an HR round will be conducted to give u an offer. I prepared for interviews with Hacker rank and Geeksforgeeks.

the placements oppurtunity are there and you can grab a very good paackage from here. The highest is around 44 , average is 7 lpa. Students become eligible for final placemnts from 6-7 semester. Companies like thermo fisches , fractal , belc , hitachi and many other, have visited. The percentage of placemnt is quite high but people grabbing more than 30lpa is very few. after degree i want to go for job directly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Honestly I don't a thing about the relevance of the curriculum, this curriculum thingy has been changing every now and then in our college I hope atleast they stick to one curriculum and make us study that and don not change it further. As I've mentioned before, I was not informed in prior about the syllabus so obviously there's no specifi aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course. I think the curriculum will prepare me to face the world way more wisely and strategically than how I'd deal with it otherwise. I think one area they can improve is in physics, they can give us more seminars, projects and stuff to check our understanding. That would really help a lot of people to be creative and help people to get the exposure. Coming to the difficulty level of the paper, I know nothing because I haven't written the sem exam yet so, I know nothing. But, can guarantee one thing!! Be careful, cause as per sources our college is known for it's tough question paper, so y'all better study.
