Remarks

It is located in a very good location. Easy to travel via public transport and even personal vehicle. The road is also properly made. The admission process was half online and half offline. We can pay fees in installments. Students have various scholarships. They can apply for scholarships. Staff and teachers are very helpful. They allow limited students so that personal attention will be given. I stay in the same town where the college is located. So it is very easy for me to travel to the college near my house. Even college hours are very suitable.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is fixed for BSc Biotechnology. The student-teacher ratio is around 1:10. Teachers guide you personally for day to day lectures. They provide notes if asked for. Teaching and NonTeaching staff both got very good qualifications. Term exam takes place every six to seven months depending on University. As it is a University governed college. The exam was of moderate level.

Placement Experience

1.5

There is no such proper placement. This is a con, They need to work on it. They have placements for IT students maybe. But for the biotechnology department, there is no specific placement drive. They do guide with seminars for placement. But no proper placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hike by around 1-2k every year as you proceed towards course completion. Additional charges for some events and journals cost around 600-700 per year. Various government scholarships for students with income less than 8Lakh. Even scholarships for working students.

Campus Life

3.5

There is a normal social gathering during the afternoon time. Mostly held in the month of December or January. Department wise there is various fest help in the month of February. Exhibitions are held in the month of September. Every month there are seminars, book exhibitions or counseling, guest lectures.

SIES College of Arts Science and Commerce - [SIES ASCS], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biotechnology)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. There are campus placements but my seniors are yet to get placed. Since we are secknd batch of data science we don't know much about how is the placement for data science students. There are good placements for bms students. I will be doing master after this degree and won't opt for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because of the teachers who teach that. I had my siblings telling me that they love the way their teachers taught them. They make it so easy to understand and give you so much advice to grow and have great success. Also, this college is just a treasure of other curriculum activities. Once you got to know that they held those kinda functions over these years you can't resist and will participate in those functions. As it the course was difficult but teachers will make it easy they will guide you in any problem that you have and encourage you to learn more skills so you can be more successful.
