gauhati university is the oldest university of assam around 10000 or more students have studied in the campus and outside the campus there are many colleges under Gauhati university, so as a historic university among NE India i have choosing this university for my higher education.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have choosing this course because it was my major subject, syllabus of the department course is also very nice and informative. I really appreciate all the teachers methods of teaching. All the teachers very much devoted to teaching.

I couldn't write the exact data that how much students are placed after completed the masters course because every year it changes. Yes definately many NGO's are invited to us for internship programs, volunteership but so of alumni also getting the parmanent job aswell.

College Events

Many events are organized by the university and as a oldest and big campus of the university many private colleges programs, private university programs, sports programs, Lacture series are helding by outsider aswell, and we are fortunate to join those programs. Lots of cultural events, film fests, literary festivals also organized by the students union of the university.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific aspects of the curriculum is that our college tried to give internship to the students. It is average the curriculum prepare me for the real world applications. It is better for us teacher explain theory by doing practical in lab. The frequency is fast so exam is little bit difficult

Course Curriculum Overview:

• I always loved plants, trees and forest as my father is from Forest background. So, I wanted to walk on his footsteps and do something is same background. I always dreamt of making a change in the society and serve the society so I choose Botany subject. •The curriculum is planned in such a way that we learn both theoretically and practically, we go on field trips where we interact with common people and do surveys that will help us in future while working on the department •There is no such areas that needs improvement, I like the way it is going on and the teaching method is also nice, only the thing is there should not be so many classes in one day, as a student gets very exhaust •The frequency and timing of exams is that in sessional its 25 marks with 1 hour 30 minutes and its easy to moderate, and 2nd is final which is of 50 marks with 2 hours 30 minutes and its moderate to hard

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

The college is unique because the facilities are really good. This college is also provides the hostel facilities tot he students who come here for study from different cities or states. The food served in the canteen is of different varieties.
