Remarks

Since the time I found myself loving biology more than any other subject, I was quite sure to pursue my career either in Botany or Zoology. After a lot of research and attending career counseling, I finalized to opt for Agriculture. The most fascinating thing about this course is, it sets out nobel professions. Agriculture is the backbone of India. Farming is the major occupation of her father. So after completion of Agriculture counseling in AAU, I was admitted in SCS College of Agriculture,Dhubri. The college is situated miles and miles apart from my home town. To be more specific, both the districts are poles apart. It was a tough decision whether to go and study that far or not. But I preferred more to focus in my course rather than the place. And this way, now I'm a SCSCAian.

Course Curriculum Overview

Agriculture is the backbone of India. We need to study nearly 10 subjects with different credit hours in each semester. I wasn't really amused by this cause since school I was familiar with such academic curriculum. It is very interesting to study different subjects attaing different concepts, ideas and knowledge. As a whole to be said, agriculture provides much and most of the knowledge about ancient India, its economy, its present day economic affairs inside and outside the nation. A lot of social knowledge is also being imparted by this course. Coming about faculties of my college, I can find them quite free and frank except a few. Since our college stands with limited seats of 40 students in each class, it is easy to interact with the professors.

Placement Experience

3.5

Many people insults studying agriculture but the educated ones are familiar with the career prospects that agriculture provides. There are quite many good jobs right after the completion of graduation with handsome salaries. It is not that one can only run after agricultural jobs after studying this course, but, can find opportunities in many other civil services, banking jobs, businesses, teaching professions etc.too. So it would sound foolish if one doesn't opt for agriculture thinking it to be farming only.

College Events

3.5

Our campus is of 24hactares, which is neither small nor too big. Every event whether it be festivals or extracurricular, it is done with great enthusiasm. The most interesting is the Annual College Meet week. Holding different types of sports and competitions, the college is seen to be filled with a different type of vigour. It is really sorrowful that this pandemic has snatched many memorable and lovely moments from us. I hope the government and people will together find a solution soon to reopen colleges and universities.

Campus Life

Though the present infrastructure of our college has not reach its goals, yet it is no less in availing the needs of students. There are quite a many things to upgrade, nevertheless, the college works hard to complete and fulfill all the needs.

This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

• I always loved plants, trees and forest as my father is from Forest background. So, I wanted to walk on his footsteps and do something is same background. I always dreamt of making a change in the society and serve the society so I choose Botany subject. •The curriculum is planned in such a way that we learn both theoretically and practically, we go on field trips where we interact with common people and do surveys that will help us in future while working on the department •There is no such areas that needs improvement, I like the way it is going on and the teaching method is also nice, only the thing is there should not be so many classes in one day, as a student gets very exhaust •The frequency and timing of exams is that in sessional its 25 marks with 1 hour 30 minutes and its easy to moderate, and 2nd is final which is of 50 marks with 2 hours 30 minutes and its moderate to hard
