VESIT, B.TECH

Remarks

The college principal simply refuses to provide funding for anything at all. So you have to really work hard to get those funds. ETRX department is very irritating and the students are almost always frustrated with the staff. IT department is the most chilled out. Finding an auto after college is a task be prepared to walk for atleast 15 mins before you find a way to reach Kurla. Timings of the college are excellent with SEs and TEs starting at 8.10 and winding up by 2.45. The extra curricular activities go up to 6 pm. The college shutter closes at sharp 6 which is frustrating. You can stay in campus till around 7 though. Overall VESIT is a good college though it does not live up to it's famous name. Join if you are interested in extra curricular activities for sure.

Entrance Preview

I took MHTCET,scored 112/200. Chose VESIT for it's reputation and extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is well designed but the common of assignments for defaulters is an issue.

Internships Opportunities

TVEC is an Entrepreneurship cell which helps with interbships.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements and job opportunities are above average but still not among the top colleges. Most of the placements are in IT based companies. Core companies for ETRX and EXTC fields are few and far between. Instrumentation has excellent placements and companies like L&T visit the campus every year. Accenture is the main recruiter of the college.

College Events

5

PRAXIS is the annual technical fest an inter college event. Around 3000 students visit and participate over 2 days. Not very famous and not that great. Utsav is the annual intra college cultural fest which has plans of becoming inter college this year. Utsav is preceded by the Saree day,Suit day and other such days. Sphurti is the annual sports fest. It has 2 parts Indoor and outdoor. Indoor sphurti takes place in the odd sem and Outdoor sphurti takes place in January. Sphurti is the unique thing about VESIT. Not every college has sports festivals. Other fests include Illusion A multi portfolio team based event. VPL A football league for enthusiasts VCL Cricket version of the football league Societies like ISTE,IEEE,CSI,ISA are pretty active and constantly conduct exciting events and activities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees though are high at around 80, 000 for a year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tata provides an annual scholarship worth 1 Lakh rupees each year to the toppers above a certain average pointer over 2 semesters.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is pretty boring with nothing much to hang out. The crowd though is a good mix of few nerds and mostly all rounders. Girl to boy ratio is above average with around 22-25 girls in a class of 60. The number is higher for computer and IT engineering. Extra curricular activities are one of the best in Mumbai. You will get a stage for all your talents no matter what with the plethora of events that are conducted. The college also has its own ground and a cricket pitch in the sister college around 200 metres away. Labs are very well maintained with proper equipments and helpful lab assistants. Robotics workshops are held twice every year and competitions are conducted in PRAXIS. Debates,Group discussions, paper presentations etc are included in the activities conducted by societies.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is pretty much above average and food is more than edible. The fees though are high at around 80, 000 for a year. Hostelites are given a 2 year contract post which they are supposed to find their own accommodation. The hostel culture is pretty healthy with seniors and juniors having no issues.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is strong with an annual Alumni event conducted each year. Senior students are friendly and helpful. No ragging was ever experienced in college.

Faculty

3

Faculty is above average and not excellent. Some of the faculty members are very helpful and friendly while some are equally strict.

Placement Experience:

PICT is known for its placement record, so talking about it more. In the academic year AY 2023-24, even though a massive recession hit the IT industry, PICT students held off and held off quite well. 706 people out of 760 enrolled got placed into a company which makes 92.89% placement. Rest were placed off-campus. The average package CTC was 13.01LPA while the median package CTC was 10.11 LPA. Around 110 companies visited the campus. The hghest package was CTC 47.28 LPA provided by Adobe for Software Engineer role. I am planning on getting placed in a multinational company with a good pay package or do higher studies in physics.

I took, Maharashtra state entrance exam (MH CET) and scored 127 (100 in exam and 227 in GDPI) to get admission in this college. I opt for MAE due to its reputation and MIT as a brand name. Moreover I was hopeful to get a campus placement support from the college.

The managements is quite good but a right time should be allotted for every department to pay fees and examination fees because when all of the students come togather to pay, there becomes a lot of rush and its takes long time and students have to wait in queue.
