Remarks

To be honest I never planned on getting into UEM, Kolkata. Though I had one of my friend who was a student of UEM, Kolkata. She informed me everything about the college. One of the criteria that had really drawn me towards my college is its rising job opportunities that were provided to the passed out students and the way the college guided them.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have taken Btech in Computer Science and Engineering. In Computer Science there's two more courses that has been introduced newly in my college as it is AICTE affiliated. The courses are Computer Science and Technology(CST) and Computer Science and Information Technology(CSIT). All these courses are more or less same, the only difference is that these two new courses have an extra paper. Apart from CS, there is other courses from Btech like ECE, EE, ME, BT in both UG AND PG. Other than Btech courses there are management courses MBA and BBA. There is BCA and MCA. The college also provides course in BHM too. There are many faculties for each of the subjects. Some of them teach really well and help you out when you are in need. Even if you need help during college off times they will be helping you if you need.

Placement Experience

4.5

Companies like TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, IBM, Wipro and many more. Vast number of students get placements within college campus only.

College Events

3.5

There's many clubs that students can participate in like singing club, dancing clan, debate club, art club, photography club and many more. There's many technical events conducted. Ureckon is one of the biggest tech fest that's carried out in all of Kolkata. Our annual fest ECSTASIA is conducted where students can participate in numerous events. Culture events other than the fest is also conducted.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is quite firm and stable. It is a huge college with three separate buildings connected with each other. There are labs for individual subjects respectively. The library is really big and spacious and can provide almost every book needed for any extra information and you can also sit there and study because atmosphere is really peaceful. We have one main cafeteria in the front building. There's seperate cafeteria in three of the buildings. We've elevators in each building which are basically used by the faculty members but sometimes we students use them too. We have 3 halls where talk sessions, conferences, programmes are held. The washroom accommodations for both the genders are really well and hygienic. The classrooms are huge. We've smart board facilities too. There is drinking water facilities too in each floors. One drawback that we have is that we don't really have a ground that can be actually use for any kind of outdoor games. Though our annual fest is carried out in the field that is the backyard of our college building. All in one everything is quite good.

As I am from Commerce background so I need to make my career on this way so I choose this course . The faculty and student receive is not good the students and the faculty ratio is 10 : 5 The faculties are educated from various university and institutes they know everything but they are unable to delivered them to us as because they are some aggressive attitude. In every six months there is a semester and it is very difficult to pass if you don't study anything from the first.
