Life at Nalanda University

I pursued the course Masters in Buddhist Studies, Philosophy and Comparative Religion. The subjects were very interesting. we had subjects like history, political science, philosophy, economics and religion. It was a lengthy course but it was very well structured.

Students have to struggle a bit to find jobs because the stream is such that they have to do a B.ed or an M.Ed to be a teacher or a professor in some school or college. However, a lot of students join as researchers for some firms that carry out certain researches..

There are a lot of cultural events celebrated at Nalanda. We have Hindi Utsav, Annual Festivals, Essay Competitions, Seminars etc where reputed people come and address the students. Those sessions are very informative.

The tuition fee for one semester is 28,000/-. So that makes it approx 1.3 lakhs per year. Apart from that the hostel fees is 25,000 per year and the means are 18,000 per semester. I feel this is quite inexpensive.

Nalanda hosts a bunch of events throughout the year for which practices are done prior. There are a lot of clubs for exploring different talents of the students. Music competitions and dance competitions are a regular occurrence.

The hostels are good. very good and hygienic food is available to students. The rooms are well maintained and AC. There is Wi-Fi and 24*7 availability of water. The perimeters are secured and students feel safe. The vibe is great too.

Admission at Nalanda University is very simple. There is an online form on their website that you can fill up and submit will all the required documents and the admission fee is 500 rupees. You will get a call if you are shortlisted.

The faculty at Nalanda is very wise and learned. They have their concepts on finger tips. They assisted us throughout the year and prepared us for the external exams that were very lengthy and comprehensive. Especially the political science professors.
