Course Curriculum Overview

The term for the course is four and half years whereas six months are dedicated for the internship. We had classroom learning with the practical demonstration of the topics by the students. We had a study tour in the final year where we visited different hospitals, institutes etc.

Placement Experience

4

I was asked to do an internship for six months by the college. It is mandatory to do internship in the final year. The placement opportunity is really good and the college works towards getting recruiters to the campus. Companies like Endolite, Otto-bock etc. came to the college for campus placement. I am working with a private hospital as a Junior researcher.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I found the fee structure affordable and feasible too. The charge for the four year course amounts to 60,270. It can be paid yearly in four installments. The first year charge is 26,370 and the remaining amount can be paid in the three years.

Campus Life

The college conducts seminars and workshops where they invite guest faculty members to deliver the lectures. We also had a privilege to interact with multinational companies personnel. They visited the college to impart knowledge regarding their latest technology in the field of prosthetics and orthotics.

Alumni/Alumna

We are the alumni or our college and we are in contact with the college. We pay visit to the college at several occasions. We share our experiences with the ongoing batches and help them to find their career path efficiently and effectively.

Admission

I joined the college in the year 2015. I found the admission procedure simple and it was easy to get admission in the college. The college considers the 10+2 standard marks with minimum of 50% in physics, chemistry and mathematics or biology.

Faculty

4.5

I find myself privileged to be taught by such eminent faculty members. They are highly qualified and are even working in various institutions. They have a lot of practical experience which added value to our entire education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.
