Remarks

D G Ruparel College is well known for its a campus and it is really beautiful. The college staff too is supportive. I studied here for 3 years pursuing BSc Statistics. The strength of my class for FY was around 120, for SY it was around 70 and for TY we were 50 students. There are many activities conducted in this college (not many for Science) but Arts students have many. The science departments have their own fests that are open to students of all departments. You can get more information on the college website i.e. www.ruparel.edu

Course Curriculum Overview

4

My subject combination for FY was Physics, Maths, and Statistics. I was planning to do a BSc in Maths, but in the first year when I studied statistics, I felt it easy to learn. Hence I thought of doing BSc Statistics. The department of Statistics is really good. You also have a departmental fest called 'Enumeratia' which conducts many activities related to statistics. The professors see to it that the concept is clear and try to take weekly tests.

Placement Experience

3

No idea regarding this. Some of the degrees do get campus placements. I myself am planning to be a professor after pursuing MSc Statistics and then appearing for the SET exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee every year is around Rs.6000 including examination fees. Since I was of open category I don't know about scholarships. But there are scholarship policies for reserved castes and many others.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus of D G Ruparel College is amazing. There are two entrances; one from the Matunga side and one from the Dadar side. There is also a canteen and you really get tasty food. Places to relax like Rupangan, Sawali, and a huge ground is all you need. A grand reading hall, a library, and gymkhana are the places you visit a few times. Students wait eagerly for the college days that are organized in the month of December. Various competitions such as rangoli, tattoo making, nail art, t-shirt painting etc.are conducted. Then comes a black and white day, mismatch day, saree and tie day, traditional day, and the most awaited annual day. You also have guru Nagarjuna in the afternoon of the traditional day. The experience is really amazing.

Other Applied Colleges

Ruia college | BSc

Since D G Ruparel College is just next to matunga road station it is easy to travel. You have to walk 10minutes for Ruia college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

While searching on internet I got to know about this course that's where I earned interest for this course that made choose this course. The practical knowledge shared by the faculty at their best helps for real life applications but still practical knowledge is gained beyond college course pattern which can be gain in internships. By providing more practical knowledge beyond the theory part of the course may help students greatly by learning real life experiences. Exams are usually held by morning at the college timing (9:30 am).

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. There are campus placements but my seniors are yet to get placed. Since we are secknd batch of data science we don't know much about how is the placement for data science students. There are good placements for bms students. I will be doing master after this degree and won't opt for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because of the teachers who teach that. I had my siblings telling me that they love the way their teachers taught them. They make it so easy to understand and give you so much advice to grow and have great success. Also, this college is just a treasure of other curriculum activities. Once you got to know that they held those kinda functions over these years you can't resist and will participate in those functions. As it the course was difficult but teachers will make it easy they will guide you in any problem that you have and encourage you to learn more skills so you can be more successful.
