My college experience

School in Studies in Biotechnology at JIWAJI UNiversity is very renowned institute for post graduation and further research.

Course Curriculum was designed properly keeping in mind for a career of a biotechnologist in Pharmaceutical industry and microbiological area. The curriculum was also supported to cover the CSIR-NET syllabus and ICMR JRF Exam Syllabus. Biotechnology is the tool which could be used in various ways in Pharmaceutical industry, Medical Device industry, Microbiological Labs and research institutes. It also helps to understand the neurophysiology research in various research institutes.

YES there were two placement drives from two major pharmaceutical industry like cadila and sunpharma was done. Although we 80% of us were selected in Placement drive but I had opt for the research and pursue the PhD in DRDO after my Post Graduation.

There were various indigenous events celebrated as per the concern departments of Science, Arts and Management. We have celebrated annual fest, sports day etc as per university schedules. Also unforgettable events were celebrated as Fresher's and Farewell Party at our institute of newcomers and seniors respectively.

Its a State Govt University and Fee structure was very justifiable. The one can get easy education loan or concession easily on the basis of merits. There was stipend for students from government in some courses like M.Sc. in Neurobiology. You may say the fees were feasible for everyone.

No, I have not opted for any scholarship or education loan. The fees was reasonable but one can easily get the education loan due to government institute.

The campus life was peaceful. There was 50:50 gender ratio. Instead the girls are more in numbers at science block. The institute is premier with an all India level entrance exam. There are Student freshers and farewell part at department level. There are various cultural societies at university.

No, I have not opted for hostel. I had stayed nearby with my relatives and thereafter as a paying guest with my class fellow at adjacent colony. Any one can get the room in hostel very easily. The boys hostel is little bit far from the science block but one can walk easily in early days of admission.

Yes, we all are connected with social networking. Even after 10 years, I had visited the institute for some certificate and Dr GBKS Prasad sir recognized very well and supported me. This is very thankful gesture for me.

Got 27th Rank all India Entrance test for Post graduation admission and opted for Master of Science in Biotechnology. Entrance exam was conducted in Mid June 2005 and the session was started in Mid July 2005. The application for the entrance exam was published in Fen 2005.

Dr GBKS Prasad sir was HOD and showed the immense dedication in teaching us. We had find good teachers to understand the subject very deeply. Dr Sameer sir was one of the gem in this institute. They support us unconditionally for all the ways as a teacher also as a mentor and moreover a guardian. I can't limit my words to acknowledge the hard work of my teachers at this institute.
