IHM Pusa, M.Sc in Hospitality Administration
Reviewed on Jan 4, 2016

Remarks

I only chose this because i always heard allot about IHM Pusa. After after getting in there i realized its all bullshit. Problem is college is good but the 90% of faculties are corrupt & mean they are only selling education system nothing else.

Entrance Preview

No entrance exam was required. Only graduation scores were required to be among top 25. After completing graduation in hotel management, wanted to pursue master degree, & through Times of India advertisement i got to know about this course while working in Hyderabad and i applied & got into merit list

Course Curriculum Overview

2

Good.most likely MBA course. We had an option of selecting Sales & marketing or Human Resources during 3rd semester for specialization. I choose Human Resources as my specialization field.

Internships Opportunities

It was one month mentor-ship program, i did from Radisson Blu hotel Noida in Human Resources department. No stipend was paid during my mentor ship. Got to learn allot during those one month

Placement Experience

0.5

Pathetic.College did not made any efforts to get any of the students placed. Except few who were offer HSR teaching at IHM Pusa only (Already known who would be getting those offer since from 1st sem).Except 3-4.everyone searched job by themselves & it was worst time i ever faced during my professional career experience. I will never recommend any one to join IHM Pusa.

College Events

2

College Annual Day, Hostel Holi celebration, Hostel Diwali Celebration. 15th August celebration. National Hygiene seminar. Visit to Yakult factory. Annual Sports Tournament., Christmas cake making

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was feasible i would have said, if i would have got the quality education. Here it was looking too much expensive as we did not got anything worth in return except a degree. For teaching Master students.lecturer has to be PHD qualified.but college never cared to call experienced professional except few who had good industry experienced. nither there was a single permanent master lecturer in college. No dedicated class room.everyday it changes. Every day only few hour classes.no proper structured.one in early morning.& second in late afternoon. Now you may guess.

Campus Life

3

There was no activities for master students except few seminar.whole two year either we whole batch used to seat at college canteen talking, discussing subject.making project. That's the only best memories i have.from that place. Otherwise i would not like to remember that college. My graduation days were much memorable than those of master

Hostel Facilities

2.5

It was fine. fees was 35 thousand per semester. but facilities were fair enough for students in hostel. But mess food was not good. I fall sick many a times. I can not comment whether it was improved or not as i left hostel after 1st Semester.

Alumni/Alumna

No I have no alumni network & nither would wish to be. I am still in touch with my immediate seniors. They were really helping & approachable in terms of any problems in college or hostel. They were really supportive.

Exam Structure

It was Semester pattern. Every semester had two subject of National Council & two subject of IGNOU and also we had project assessment marks. Which we came to know after second semester assessment marks was in the hand of Master coordinator, as we got many threatening from him stating if we argue or raise our voice in short.it may effect marks.

Faculty

1

All the faculty were guest lecturer. Few were really amazing educationist & i really got to learn allot from them not only about subject but life experience which they used to discuss & share. Few were just like any regular, who just come & give you notes and go.least bothered students are learning anything or not. But after getting into IHM Pusa i realized how big name in the market can fool you around and waste your time, energy & money. I really got to see the corrupt face of education industry.

Internships are offered after sem 1. And placement scenario is good, with good packages. Big companies like JP MORGAN, HCL, FIITJEE, GOOGLE, TCS, IPAC, etc. highest package for our course was 37 lakhs/ annum. And minimum was 11 lakh. More than 80% gets placed. My plan is to pursue PhD

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose physics as my interest lies in studies of physics as for the faculty there are 2 campuses for NSUT so there are a lot of faculties each class has a fair gender ratio and faculties are highly qualified in NSUT they take a mid-semester exams and an end semester exam an internal assessment between these exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum is not that light, it requires to be taken seriously throughout. Had done BSc in mathematics so automatically reflex was to pursue a master's in the same subject, that's why opted for it in the first place. But later realized we can do a lot more things with the same course apart from carrying on a Ph.D.

No one can get bored here. Academics are top class. Apart from studies, sports facilities are at their best as well. From indoor to outdoor activities, you are never going to have any complaints regarding these.

Remarks:

Overall the university is good as it's central university and said so the fee is also bearable for financially deprived students. Faculty is good who teach you about subject with focus. The infrastructure is pretty good like ghalib park , tagore auditorium, art gallery etc. One of the biggest library is in jamia.
