My BDS journey

New Horizon is one amongst the pioneers of dental education. With highly trained staffs to help us out in every aspect of our educational journey, it is and will continue to be the best experience of my undergraduate life.

The curriculum structure for BDS is quite decent for the whole five-year duration, which includes a year of internship after completing the fourth year. We gain a lot of knowledge during the internship period.

As this is a medical school we are only given paid internships, after completion of the fourth year during which we read theoretically and attend some practical sessions. We are put to practice under guidance of well-experienced technical staffs.

Like any other institutes we celebrate cultural events among which some are Ganesh chaturthi, cultural programs including dance, theater and many other fun competitions. We have street plays during which we have a lot of fun.

The course fee for BDS is Rs. 2,06,309 which is feasible when compared to other private colleges. For PG, that is, MDS the course fees (per year) is RS. 4,54,062. We are given stipend during our internship which is quite helpful.

Meritorious students get awarded by scholarships from the college itself. Students can themselves apply for scholarships, the college does the related formalities and gives scholarships to the deserving candidates.

Workshops and labs are handled by professionals with whom by our side nothing could possibly go wrong. Sports such as basketball, cricket, carrom are organised regularly by the college for our relaxation.

Yes, I stay in hostel. The hostel is located inside the campus, a very spacious area. Vegetarian food is served in the hostel, the mess is clean and hygienic and feels like home. The annual fees for hostel is Rs. 75,000.

New horizon dental college is a ragging free zone. The seniors are more of a friend to us, they can be approached with any academic related queries, they'll help you out with any thing for that matter.

Like for any other medical/dental college, I had to clear NEET for admission into BDS at New horizon too. NEET score is a must along with the board's score, the student must obviously be from the science stream.

The student-faculty ratio at the New Horizon is very impressive, we are all given special care academically, there are non-technically staffs that help you out too. They are very approachable at any point of the time.
