Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is well defined and is in sync with the nationally defined parameters for a B.Ed program. Exams are held in a semester wise manner that is during a single year of program two semester examinations are held namely the odd semester examination and the even semester examination. Before the end semester examination evaluation and assessment are done through test and assignments.

Placement Experience

1

Placement as such is not provided by the university and when it comes to distance learning there is hardly any placement opportunities for us. Most of the students pursuing this program in distance learning have teaching experience for are working as a teacher so placement is not big concern for them. Since most of the students sit for the state and national level teacher eligibility exam at the end of the course to get empanelled as teachers in government schools. Internship is not much of help in this course as students already have experience in teaching.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for the two year program stands at around Rs 1 lakh. One has to pay around Rs 45, 000 for one year. Apart from that semester wise one has to pay the exam fee, this is to be paid online. At the time of admission you will be required to submit the first year fee along with the other expenses as listed by the university.

Fees and Financial Aid

The state government of Bihar offers scholarship to the students from the reserved category as well as students from the economically weaker section of the society. Following this up is this scholarship from the central government which is offered through a dedicated platform called the national scholarship portal. In case you are not able to get scholarship sanctioned under these two then one can apply for educational loan from any private or public sector bank.

Campus Life

3

As a distance learning student I cannot tell much about the extra-curricular activities as these are mostly made for the full time student who are actively involved. In terms of events the college organises workshop for the students to get acquaint in the teaching pedagogy. Infrastructure varies from one regional centre to the other and in case of my centre it is quite good.

Admission

I sat for the entrance exam conducted by the university for B.Ed admission in distance learning. Since I had two years teaching experience and I was also teaching in school I opted for this distance learning program. I got the admission after clearing the entrance exam. The distance learning mode of B.Ed program is available for only those students who are into teaching or have teaching experience of some years. Someone without teaching experience cannot opt for B.Ed in distance learning. if you don't have teaching experience then you would have to opt for the regular or full time B.Ed program.

Faculty

Faculty at my regional centre is good they are experienced teacher themselfves and they help us understand the basics of the pedagogy that is required to be incorporated in order to be a good teacher when we step out and take the action. They also provide guidance in regards to the various National and State level teacher eligibility examination as many of them have cleared these examinations.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is tough. There is total 10 subjects in first year and 6 subjects in second year. It also include practical and 16 weeks internship program. We had to write assignment for each subjects and have to complete 1 observation copy, 4 learning plans and 4 lesson plans with school management dairy for 16 weeks internship program. We have to face much difficulties as faculties are not cooperative. Exams are held every 6 months including internal and external exams. The question level is much difficult. The college must hire some good well eduacted and cooperative faculties that can help students in their studies.
