Remarks

Overall it's a great college but there is always a scope for improvement.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

There were many Industrial visits, the sugarcane factory visit was one of my favourite as I learned many thing out there, had physical access to many stock registers, in and out entries etc, also saw the physical process of making sugar. The college always taught me to gain experience not only in academics but also in extra curricular activities, my overall percentage decrease gradually from 10th to graduation. But my knowledge and extra curricular experience increased tremendously.

Placement Experience

4

Did not opt for placement thourough college. But there were various well known companies in the campus placement recruiting people on the basis of their knowledge and grades.

College Events

5

The yearly fest for 3 days called infinity, which included various competitions such as snap hunt, treasure hunt, football league, basket ball and cricket leagues, traditional day, many mehendi, rangoli, dance, coding competitions with judges from various different fields judging the competition fairly.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Hardly costed me 15000-20000 for the 3 year course, mode of payments were online payment or thourough depositing the same in the specified bank. There were no additional fees charged and there was 100% transperancy in the fee structure, as in the fee receipt itself the total breakup was given as in how much amount was allocated where from the total fees charged.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not opt for any. But scholarship was compulsory given to every girl in the college, it wasn't a huge amount, but some part of the fees was returned to our bank account directly. This was an excellent initiative taken by the college according to me.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is big very big, gender ratio might be comprising of 55% girls and 45% boys, Yes, you heard it right. 55% population was girls. IT labs were well equipped with a decent capacity and IT seats were limited so they were only alloted on merit basis no partiality.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No I did not opt for hostel as I was a localite, but one of my friend was. Hostel seats were alloted on first come first serve basis, according to her. The food was quite good, the rooms were clean. The room had to be shared with two more people. There was a total seperate girls hostel with 2 security guards.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, seniors play a vital role and are very helpful in curricular as well as extra curricular activities.

Admission

Admissions started some where in mid june 2014 after the 10th results, admissions were given according to the 10th std percentage of the student, every student was fairly given the seat, whether in grant or non grant section. I was preparing for chartered accountancy course, so I wanted a college near my residence with the best teaching staff, extra curricular activities and a decent environment. And timming was also an issue for me as I had to match my college and class timmings, thankfully I could manage them well as they didn't clash.

Faculty

4.5

Approximately 100-150 lectures per subject. Teachers well qualified for teaching have many years of experience and various PHD holders. eg we had a CA faculty to teach us Audit and Taxation etc etc. Many seminars were held by various professionals from banking, CA, CS, CWA sectors for our knowledge gaining purpose.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

Placement Experience:

From semester 5, you become eligible for final placement and semester 3 for internship placement. many companies like Nykaa, Myntra, Duetsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Zomato, Beerbiceps and more have visited. the highest package in history is 38 lakh per annum. The average is 8-9 lakh per annum. Around 70% of students get the college placement. My plan is to start my own business after college. I am although doing internships through college. Already done one in Beerbiceps and one in chorus call.

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
