Remarks

Our college is good overall and has good environment for studies. It's Al relatively new college ( estb 2008) but continues to achieve new heights every year. Our chemistry department is ranked no. 1 in India by nature magazine ( Asia). Also we have overall rank of 37 ( NIRF 2019) in India.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have opted for BS MS Integrated degree of duration 5 years. The course structure is that we have to study 5 subjects Physics, Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Earth and Environmental Science in first year. Second Year we have to select 3 subjects as pre majors and 3 year onwards we can continue 1 major and 1 minor. IIISERB also has other courses like engineering sciences and economics. The exam pattern consists of two quizzes and a mid semester and an end semester exam.

Placement Experience

4

Our college provides INSPIRE scholarships. Placements are not that great as many of students pursue higher studies in college or in country or abroad. Students are dedicated to their field go for PhD. Students from other courses linked engineering sciences and economics get jobs with good package.

College Events

4.5

Our college organises numerous fests Science fests, cultural fests and annual fests like singularity ( science and tech fest ) and enthuzia ( music and dance tests). Our college also organises inter IISER sports and cultural tests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. 44, 400 for general and obc around 11, 000 for SC and ST. The fee structure is constant per semester along with some annual fees about 1000. The fees can seem high for poor families but for middle class and rich it's affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provide INSPIRE Scholarship and you can get loan from SBI which is situated in our campus only. You can get loan easily since it is a government institute and falls under institute of eminence. Any bank will happily give you loan.

Campus Life

5

Sports is very good. There 2 basketball court, a football ground, a cricket ground, a lawn tennis court and 2 badminton courts for students. Coaches of different sports are also available, so you can learn the game of your choice. Plus, our college team is really good when it comes to sports.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are good. You need to share room with your roommate ( 2 students in a room) till 2nd year and they will give separate rooms 3rd year onwards. Hostel fee is 3000 per year or 1500 per semester which is really cheap. All the current students are required to live in hostels only.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not so solid but they are working on it. Many students go abroad for higher studies that's make it difficult to establish contact. There is alumni magazine that is for alumni and their research. That's helpful as the broaden the prospects.

Admission

The admission can be thourough various streams like JEE ADVANCE, KVPY, NEET and IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). ( called SCB - thourough State and Central Board. I got admission thourough SCB channel which had CBSE cutoff of 88% ( other boards have different cutoffs) in addition to clearing IAT.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are very qualified, each had completed their PhD from recognized institutes ( mostly foreign) and done many post doctoral projects. Particularly faculties are quite intensive on teaching.
