Entrance Preview

AIEEE, The college was reputed (at the time i took admission) and as it was the best I could get through my rank that too in my hometown. I preferred Staying in hometown as I was in hostel for the previous two years which proved out to be a really bad experience. Therefore I preferred choosing a college in my hometown Roorkee.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

As the college is affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University, the course mainly focuses on theory part and the research and practical work is almost zero. The basic focus of the students is to just mug up the things on the last days of exams and get passing marks."the more you write, the more you score". No matter what you write in the answer sheet.

Internships Opportunities

No internship is provided by the college after third year. Some summer training courses are provided in the college campus during the summer break which are charged around 8-10 thousand per student. No stipend, offcourse. The companies that come for recruitment process are mostly fraud and do not provide what they promise during the recruitment process (as told by the passed out seniors).

Placement Experience

1.5

The companies that come for recruitment process are mostly fraud and do not provide what they promise during the recruitment process (as told by the passed out seniors).Whereas, some of thee companies such as R systems, come for recruitment which are genuine no matter the package provided by them is less.

College Events

1

An annual cultural and technical festival named DHAROHAR is organised in the month of march every year. The fest is inter college and most of the nearby colleges from dehradun, roorkee, haridwar participate in the fest. The event is celebrated on a pretty good scale. An inter college Sports fest was also celebrated till 2013 but now, no inter college sports meet is organised.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is given to the students who score good in Inter examinations. (90% above)The college has a tie up with Bank of Baroda which provide education loans to the students have good academic result.

Campus Life

3.5

Most of the college crowd is low standard. Whereas, being a Computer Science student the crowd is pretty decent. The students from convent schools of roorkee make up a decent crowd. No importance is given to extra curricular activities. Students have to arrange time from their own to for indulging in extra curricular activities.

Oracle has been the biggest find of GEHU as before GEU, they hire students of our college. The reason is that we have given 20+ students to Oracle so far and they all have been doing well there. So almunus of our college has made our placements stronger by bringing the same companies to our campus for placements year after year.

In GEU, placements are good and this was the main reason I took admission here. Companies visits here from Hyderabad offices and even Pune offices who doesn't just gives us jobs but intenrships opportunities too. Around 20% of the students even get PPO as our college teaching and training is such that getting job here is a cakewalk.

Over 90 lakh has been given to a student of GEU and that didn't just made the headlines but also made GEU among the niche universities. Around 70% students of the university have placements as placement cell keep sending what's app forward of the interviews. One has to though enroll himself/herself there to be eligible for the same.

So in short all get the opportunity to give their shot at it and around 80% gets placed as well. I have decided to pursue M.Tech and therefore I have started preparing for the entrance and our college provides assistance in that as well.

Tula Institute has a policy where students have to have a severe training during the second year. Communication skills and all are very important for a engineering student and we are taught that in the training program. So finally comes the placements and around half the batch is seen getting placed every year from our college.
