Remarks

Positive remark is that college is having well classrooms and we'll equipped labs. Some faculties are really highly educated. Negetive remark is that college only focus on attendance like it doesn't believe in students inovation , creativity, ideas. Only focuses on scoring marks and gpa.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

Engineering course is quit well with practical knowledge. Exam pattern is also good. Exam are here in each semester, two internal exam also conduct by the college and quiz and surprise tests also. Lab exams and also conduct by the college

Placement Experience

2

Yes , college provide internship. College internship are not stipend based. They just conduct a training program on python, c++,Android during vacation. College placement is quite good. They claim 90% of placement. The avg package offered by our senior is around 4-4.5 lacs per annum

College Events

1

There are many events celebratted in our college. Every Saturday we have our musical night, which is totally managed by students. It is a cultural program where singing, dancing, drama is conducted. Annuual function is also there.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Quite feasible as course fee is rs 75000 per annum. And you can clear your dues any time during the semester. Although they force to pay it before they issue admit card of the semester. A student can pay RS 33000 each semester to clear the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides bank loans. And there is many govt scholarship that our college also applys on behalf of students like for sc/st students there is around 100% higher studies scholarship by the odisha govt. Whereas general students get 10000 only a year.

Campus Life

1.5

Labs are well equipped. Labs are totally air conditioned. Sports is not good in our college as college doesn't encourage students to play and doesn't support students for sports activity. Dancing and singing is there where students give their extracurricular time.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. But I've not yet experienced alumni Network so , I can't comment properly. Rather I see college does have a alumni Network. Senior students are also good, they always helps junior in various fields.

Admission

After completing 12th, I give Jee mains exam, after scoring a rank in jee main exam , I applied for the college, and get admission here. College review my 12th marksheet and aggregate percentage of physics , chemistry and mathematics and jee rank . On basis of these things college gives admission.

Faculty

1

Faculty are well educated and poses extremely good knowledge of their respective paper. They focus students to learn practical things and implement those things. They encourage student to participate in different hackathons, competition etc.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
