A good experience

My experience in college is really good. One of the best parts of the college experience is I didn't see any ragging. And seniors were very friendly because of which I'm enjoying my college life a lot.

The curriculum is set by Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU) because our college is affiliated to it. The curriculum is relevant and fair. Till the 4th sem, we don't get any electives. But from 5th sem, we get 2 types of electives and they are Professional elective and Open elective.

Being a volunteer in the career development club of our college, I have seen many reputed companies like Infosys, TCS, First American Indian, etc have hired many of our college students through campus selection. The placement cell provides all the support required for the students. It not only provides guidance and support to all those who are willing to get placed in companies but also the placement cell is providing support for those who want to start their startups and also to those who want to do their higher education.

Many events like technical talks, quizzes, technical fests, etc are conducted in our college. Along with technical events, cultural and sports events are also conducted like yearly a college fest is conducted grandly, cricket cup known as "Spin cup" are also conducted.

No, as I belong to the general category, I can't claim any scholarships or quotas. But as I have heard, very bright students get scholarships from college also. As I'm an average student, I don't claim any such facilities.

The gender ratio is almost equal in college campuses but in my class girls are more in number. The gender ratio is like 1:2 in our branch. Many events are organized regularly through clubs like the cultural club, sports club, career development club, and technical club.

Yes, many of our seniors and alumni are helping us in building career. Many of them have started their own startups and are recruiting many students from our college students themselves. Few are guiding us in preparing our project.

I got into this college through KCET. I wrote the KCET entrance exam after my 12th state board exam. After the KCET results came out, I went for a document verification of mine to Vidya Vardhaka college of Engineering. After the verification, I did my option entry where we'll be giving a list of colleges to which we are ready to get in. Later our college seats are allotted through which I got the seat in Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology for BE in Information Science and Engineering.

They are one of the most supportive faculties I have ever seen. They have always supported us academically and socially. When it comes to academics, the faculties are having a very good hold on the subjects and always have cleared all our doubts. And when it comes to non-academic activities like cultural activities, sports activities, etc, the teachers are very supportive.
