Institute of Opportunities

The college have good facilities, faculties and infrastructure, it all depends on you how you use them to make yourself better. Since it's a institute of National Importance, you will get good tag after passing out here.

Course Curriculum is good, it is designed in such a way that students have to study on regular basis and not like just study in end. We have exams every month which directly contributes to our final grade. Minor 1 (10 marks) -> Mid Exams (30 marks) -> Minor 2 (10 marks) -> End Exams (50 marks).

In my course there is not such Internship opportunity here but yes for placement there are some good opportunities and one can grab handsome package if he/she focuses on his/her skills properly. Many good companies visit our campus every year.

There are two major events celebrates every year in our college. One is Technozion, somewhere in month of October, it's a Technical Fest where lot of students from other colleges also participate in learning, showcase, competiting in technology terms. Also there is lot of attractions and games organized along with best speakers to give speech on good topics. Second is Spring Spree which is celebrated near Holi. It's a cultural Fest and again lot students participate in several cultural events and copetite with each other. Huge cask prizes are given in both fests.

Fee structure of my course is feasible, it's little more than other NITs but it's fine. For my course it is around 1.5 L for 2 years. I am not aware of all other courses. Hostel Fee and Mess Fee is feasible. Hostel fee is around 15k for one year with good facilities.

There are many good scholarship/ loan facility provided by our college every year and many other institute also collaborated with our college to provide scholarships. Though I have not availed any, but one can check on institute's website.

Infrastructure for extra curricular activities is good and there are many sports activities goes here. We have intermural competition every year apart from that each department have their own sports competitions to encourage students to play and stays physically fit also. Labs are also good.

Hostel facility is very good and is feasible also. Infrastructure and Facilities is very good as compared to other college hostels. You will see Asia's largest hostel here (not anymore the largest) but still it's very good.

Seniors students here are like classmates only. I didn't find and difference here, they are very helpful and treat us like their friends only. There is no such junior -senior attitude here. There are many good and successful alumni from our college and there are together contributing to equip out college with more and more good facilities.

I got admission through entrance exam called JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) which IIT conduct every year in the month of February for students seeking admission in IITs or NITs in Science courses.

Mostly faculty of our college is aged and very experienced. They have been teaching for long so they know how students think and how to tackle and teach them. Not all faculty is good and you will not see it anywhere. It's is mix of both, overall in PG faculty does not matter a lot infact you must be self learner, they are just for guidance.
