Remarks
Mainly everybody will come to the college for education.In the aspect of education NITK is one of the best colleges in India.Professors will be helpful, infrastructure is good and many companies will visit the campus for recruitment.Campus will have good atmosphere and infrastructure , basic facilities like HCC,sports complex.And many more cultural and technical clubs which are in the college will be conducting workshops.Film club is also present which screens a film at least one movie a month.Of course in any college some minor issues will be there which you have to adjust
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum of my branch(Marine structures)is good but it is not that much up to the requirements of the present day.Faculty is experienced as this course is available only in few colleges in India.Coming to the exam structure you have two semesters for a year and in each semester you have one mid exam and end semester exam.End semester is valued for 50 marks.Mid examination is valued for 25 marks and surprise tests,assignments comprises of 25 marks.And it is relative grading
Placement Experience
Every student had to do internship after first year in my branch.Seniors and lecturers will help you to get internship in a reputed government organizations or private companies by giving contacts of them so no need to worry regarding internship.Regarding placements it is above fifty percent for my branch for the past two years.Technip Fmc,Royal haskonings,LnT,Tata consultancy engineering limited are the few companies that will visit the college.Average package will be above 4.5lakh.
College Events
There will be many events that are celebrated in our college like Holi,Ganesh Chaturdhi,Diwali,Sankranthi,Onam etc.Particularly On Holi colours will be distributed and water tankers will be arranged.On Ganesh Chaturdhi idol will be placed and pooja will be done.On Diwali Lantern will be given and Dinner will be arranged for all in the college itself. College Fest's will be conducted(Incident)
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is quite expensive in my opinion.You have four semesters in Mtech.For every semester and you have to pay the fee and it will vary according to the semester.For four semesters it is around 3 lakhs with hostel.But you will get stipend of 12,400 per month
Fees and Financial Aid
Whoever entered our college on the basis of gate examination,central government will give stipend of 12,400 per month.Regarding loan facility ,SBI branch is there in the college itself so if you want loan it is available.Many students take loan from this branch
Campus Life
Cricket play ground, basketball and volleyball courts,shuttle badminton courts ,tennis courts are present.Swimming pool and gym is also available.And coming to labs it is ok.Equipment is good and lab technicians will help you all the time during the lab for conducting experiments
Hostel Facilities
Yes I opted for hostel.For semester you have to pay 24,500 for accommodation and food.Room will have enough space with cot,cup boards, and study table.Wi fi facility will be there.Filtered water facility is also present.
Alumni/Alumna
For me senior students are helpful with the proper guidance like how to study,which subjects you have to concentrate more and many more things.Alumni network is always present as they will help you to bring out the companies they work to the college
Admission
I cleared Gate examination.People who qualified gate examination will have common entry portal COAP where they will open at the specified date and you have to give options according to your choice of your college and branch and for btech you have to clear JEE to enter into the college
Faculty
Faculty for my branch(Marine structures) are familiar with the subject knowledge, experienced and they well equipped to create interest by their teaching.Most of the teaching is by presentations itself only.And they are available at any time to clear your doubts without any hesitation
