Review of IIT ISM

Positive: Lush greenery cleanest campus. Awesome placements. Very strong Senior-Junior relationship. Negativity: No air connectivity in Dhanbad. One have to ride 3 hours to reach nearest airport. Some professor's are not world class.

Course curriculum is vaste and diversified. Their main focus is fundamentals. Every main subject has practical as well. Thought they teach few Outdated subjects as well mostly because of understanding purpose but most course is very unique.

Placements are really good. One among the best placements for CSE and Earth Science branches. CSE avg placement is around 20LPA Almost 100% placement in both. In third year we get internships with almost 50% students getting industry internship. Stipend for internship to industries ranges from 50k to 2Lacks. Some students also intern at foreign university / industry.

There is some going on in the campus almost every week. But those which is really interesting are: 1) Concetto : Tech fest with almost 10000 are part of the event 2) Srijan : 3 day Cult Fest with footfall of 20k and budget around 1Crore.

Feasible. Total fees of IITs for four years is approximately 10Lac. If you get 2/3rd fee waiver(Family income below 5lacks) it is around 5Lac. If you get MCM scholarship it is around 2.5Lac effectively If you belong to SC/ST or Family income less than 1Lac then it is around 2.4Lac.

Numerous state Government, NGO, Industrial, Central Government provide scholarship for almost all students. MCM Scholarship is availed by most. Whereby entire tuition FEES is waived off. SC/ST students need not pay any fees. Interest free lones are sponsored by government of India (Vidhya Lakshmi Loan)

There is a SAC(Students Activity Center) which house more than 50 clubs. One can make his/her own club as well. Labs have state of the art infrastructure. There are 2 grounds : cricket, Football, Hockey etc. All Olympics sports are played here.

Alumni network is really strong as institute is almost 100 years old. Many MDs etc of various companies are from ISM. Alumni are well connected to the institute. There is an annual fest BASANT evere alumni are invited

JEE Advance. First of all you have to qualify JEE mains and JEE Advance. You have to be in top 2000 AIR to get CSE. Top 3000 for Maths and Computing. Top 7000 for Petroleum. Top 9000 for other earth science departments.

Faculties are quite good. Most of them are research oriented. Most of them follow self thinking approach for teaching. But some faculties don't give good marks. They say "You are engineering and accuracy is what distinguishes you and you can't afford to commit any mistakes.
