Course Curriculum Overview

One of the USPs of IFTI is there delicately curated course structure. The course curriculum is pretty deep and consists of hands-on practice on Raw Footage Editing of documentaries, serials, Attachment with Video Editing Studio, TV Channels. We learned a lot from the course structure.

Placement Experience

The IFTI institute is best known for its corporate ties. A lot of well known companies visit our campus for the sole purpose of recruiting students for internships as well as for a full time job. Even if some of the students fails to get a placement during on campus placement, the institute make them capable enough to stand in the market on their own.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee for a six month Diploma in Film & TV Direction and Production is INR 1.5 lacs. The diploma itself is one of its kind with a distinguished course curriculum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the scholarship option is also available with the institute, which is a very good initiative to help the students who are passionate about the media industry.

Campus Life

The campus life pretty awesome. The infrastructure is an elemental part in a professional course like mine. And the infrastructure of the IFTI stood tall on my expectations. We had a Library with more than 500 hundred books, CDs & periodicals, Three Audio-Visual Studios, Computer Lab, Editing Suites with latest FCP Softwares, Sound Studio, and many other devices to assist us in providing an overall learning environment.

Hostel Facilities

Our institute also provides the hostel facility for both boys and girls. That too on pretty affordable prices. The overall hostel facilities are good. I didn’t opted for the hostel though, just heard the positives from my batchmates.

External Expense: Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Admission

I applied online on the official website, where I paid 1000 Rs. for downloading prospectus. After submitting the application form I appeared for an entrance test which was pretty basic. Administration was very supportive during the entire selection process.

Insightful & practical media course

Likes

My overall experience at RSJ was positive. The course focused on practical journalism, newsroom exposure, reporting, anchoring and content planning & production.
Faculty members were supportive and directly conducted sessions & shared their industry knowledge.

Dislikes

The curriculum was aligned with current media requirement, though more workshops and field assignments could further improve the learning.
The gender ratio was fairly balanced with a slight majority of female students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at RSJ was practical and industry oriented. The course focused on hands on newsroom experience and understanding the complete life cycle of a news story. The course offfered exposure to newsroom operations, reporting techniques, news writing & content production.

The class composition was excellent and brought together a diverse group of students with different perspectives and experiences. While there were significantly more female students than male students—the ratio was approximately 9 girls to 3 boys—the learning environment remained engaging and collaborative. The varied viewpoints and insightful contributions from classmates made discussions interesting and enriched the overall learning experience.
What was taught throughout the course was truly exceptional. The faculty consistently challenged us to perform at a level that often exceeded the expectations of a typical newsroom environment. Their high standards pushed us to continuously improve our skills, think critically, and strive for excellence. As students, we embraced those challenges and worked hard to make the most of every opportunity and learning experience available to us. The demanding yet rewarding environment played a significant role in our professional growth and preparation for the journalism industry.
What made the experience even more impressive was the faculty itself. The people teaching us were one of the program's greatest strengths. We had the privilege of learning from respected professionals such as Niranjan Sir, Shawan Sir, Abhishek Sir, and Arnab Sir. It was remarkable to be taught by individuals with such extensive industry experience and expertise. Their guidance, insights, and real-world perspectives added immense value to the course and helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and the realities of the journalism industry.

Dislikes

The class had a noticeable gender imbalance, with significantly more female students than male students. At times, this contributed to the formation of smaller groups and made the class feel somewhat fragmented. However, I do not believe this was intentional on the institution's part. Despite these challenges, the diverse perspectives within the class often led to interesting discussions and learning opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, it's highly relevant if you want to become a journalist. No other news channel gives you opportunities to work on projects like these. I firmly believe that sometimes you need to push people to help them perform at their best. As for suggestions, I would recommend that the Dean be a little more open to criticism. Doing so would help build a stronger and more effective team over time. I would also suggest not rushing through the course content, as allowing more time for learning and practical application would greatly benefit the students.

Great College and Faculty

The faculty over there are much better than i though
The teachers helped me a lot in achieving my goals

Dislikes

They told us that we will get placement but nothing is there for diploma students

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course was really good and it taught me many things and softwares which I was not used to or never heard about. The duration of the coursebis one year but you will not know how fast the course will end so be prepared from the starting

Don't just go for the name enquire

Likes

Faculties behaviour was good towards students
Air conditioning in classrooms is good so in summer it is very comfortable to sit in classroom
College is near metro station so easy commute

Dislikes

No campus area this is just a building and a car parking
They have film making courses but no equipments so I advise people to get admission after enquiring everything
No internship for film students but for mass media there is some internship for toppers

Course Curriculum Overview:

In film they have more of a practical approach and it is justifieable because film is 80% practical and 20% theory so there teaching methods are admirable because even with no good equipments they managed to teach us some good camera and lighting techniques. In terms of exam difficulty, it is pretty mediocre which is because of film is more of a practice than theory.

This is a first batch of college hence there is no placement till now, but weekly we visit for live shows in news channels.

Remarks:

there is some positive and some negative. I think our college have lots of positive vibes but also some negative.Like college not have good parking place.and not have canteen.So you eat your food in hostel or outside shop.

A college where students get a perfect exposure.

Remarks:

Life at JIMMC is just amazing, you enter the college once and you will start loving the environment & the people around you so much that you won't even realize how fast time travels & you never want to leave this. The food provided in the canteen is just amazing with a numerous variety of dishes being offered.

Remarks:

The uniqueness of this Institute lies in its training methods that are highly interactive. There is not even a single bad thing that can be brought forward for this college, the life here is amazing & awesome.
